I have had the X1 for just over a month now, an no problems at all. The speaker is a bit low, but that can be overcome with external speakers. The phone only crashed once, and I blame it on 3rd party software, not SE or MS. Also, the phone has never connected to the internet automatically except when you set an application to do so.

That is like the chevy is a good car except the... moreWell it is a personal opinion. I've even tried an Asus p565 last month and beleive me it is the worst phone I even had....the battery would't last even 3 hours. It's like carrying the charger whereever you go. I Call Asus P565 a complete failure with the most pathetic "Glide" Interface with no usability. Mobile phobe for me is 1) The Call quality, 2)Network frequency band (Travel), 3) Friendly Web browsing 4) Battery back-up, 5) Design and 6) Multimedia. Xperia has given me everything.....though I'd agree....the pricing of the phone is not co-relative to the value it provides the user (value for money spent). There are equally better phones available in the market, which are cheap and give almost the same satisfaction. Well the whole world knows, that the WM OS has its own flaws....we are evolving, but it'll take its royal time....I'm planning to shift soon to Samsung Omnis HD. Your comments on the same are very welcome!

You should read ´POST YOUR OPINION...˝
I post mine you post yours.
I had very disappointing experience with X1 and you had wonderful.
The difference between us is that I tolerate yours while you do not mine.
You want me to shut up just because SE unable to produce a model which works reliable.
Actually made by HTC.
SE announced that the next X1 will not be made by HTC.
You think because HTC did such a great job?
X1 is offered for free! with a cheap contract and it is still not very popular - free!
Enjoy your perfect unit! :)

I have had the same experience. After a few weeks I did give another chance, but I experienced the same unreliable slow performance.
It is no wonder that X1 is one of the biggest flop of 2008!
I think it is a great phone it is an iphone killer it is a great multimeida phone
Can someone please help with my questions:
1. Can I install applications into the external memory if the internal memory is already full? And can the applications be used directly from the external memory?
2. Does more recently manufactured Xperia have the upgraded ROM, or does all Xperia need to be upgraded by users themselves after purchased?
3. Is there really Xperia X2 coming? When will it be out? I dont want to have purchased X1, then a few weeks later they come out with X2.

I was delighted with my Xperia on arrival, however I was pleased to sell it in the end.
It was very slow and hard to find bits quickly. I have obviously sold it for a much easier to use phone putting it simply.
Can anybody tell me if this phone allows to easily record the conversations (so that my voice and the voice of my caller is well heard)?
What I want is having the ability to record the conversation without browsing through tons of menus- 2-3 clicks and recording to a file when needed...
I have this option in my old W910i, but I've heard its not possible in windows mobile systems anymore...
Thank you very much in advance for help.
Does this phone have the problem of automatically connecting to the net by itself like the iphone?
The speakers could be better - much better.
The volume is very low!
The reception also very unreliable besides the OS.

˝It may have been the most eagerly awaited telephone of the year... and it may well have been the most disappointing telephone of the year, too. Introduced in February with (almost) operational prototypes, the phone has only just become available in stores. Its “revolutionary” Windows Mobile interface was not only slow, but it also wasn’t any more functional than other operating systems from HTC, Samsung or Asus. And since there’s only one Windows Mobile model from Sony Ericsson, developments for the proprietary interface, quite naturally, are scarce. What was supposed to be the ultimate smartphone is at best only passable, and at worst a total failure.˝
