what? do... more1.2mm is about the accurate spaceage.
But thats not the whole operation. They look and feel wide apart. For the average male the keys are likely smaller than desired, but i have quickly adjusted to the spaceing and using them.
Its a tops phone!

I actually didn't know for sure if AF was available in video mode too.
Just checked now, and yes, it is available, though as you can expect, it's not super quick.

Hi Ray UK, so u have X1 already. I wanted to know about its video cam features. Is the camera AF available while shooting videos or just in stills? I sometimes need this feature for recording macro vids. My P990 doesn't have this so I have to rely on my handycam. Can u help me with this feature?

hi i am using this phone for 2 months . it has good design and is very eye catching but its not very user friendly u can;t use it with one hand or ur thumb., you have to take out stylus to do certain basic things like looking for contact or writing a txt msg.
its not for the people who want to use phone on the go.
sometimes its really frustrating.
also build quality is poor and most of the xperia phones comes with a crack near stylus ( check urs now coz mine has one )
i used so many business phones and i found nokia e90 and e71 are 100 times better than xperia.
but again if u guys love windows then buy a laptop instead of xperia .

what? do you really wanna know the gap between the keys? sorry, i dont have a vernier caliper.
but, would it make a difference if i said it was 1.2mm or said it was 1.8mm? just go try out the phone before you decide to buy one.

Hi AAN. I'm glad you find my posts informative. And I'm also happy to see some sensible queries, rather than people claiming "Nokia is best, N97 is the ultimate phone, SE is crap, Winmo is a failure, X1 is made by HTC (so what?)".
Anyway, coming to your queries:
For someone who has had no experience with Winmo (or the previous Windows PPC), I would say the learning curve is gonna be a bit different. Dont want to use the word "steep" 'coz it's really a matter of finding what options are where, alternate ways doing the same thing, installing new programs and running them. It's what you'd do if you get any other smartphone. The only thing that makes Winmo a bit different is that there are more ways of doing the same thing. In a way, it is like a computer. In Symbian S60, UIQ3, Blackberry - they all support similar features/functions, with maybe only one way of doing something.
HTC Touch Pro, Touch Diamond, etc are all good phones. The TF3D is really funky/cool. But that interface is merely a shell over the underlying Winmo. (In X1 you got many more of these shells - we call them Panels - some of them are customizable and quite good). So even on that HTC, there would be some occasions when you'd have to work with the underlying Winmo.
The camera isn't the best, I'd agree. It is 3.2mp and the colours are vibrant enough. For outdoor use (i.e. with good lighting) it's ok, but for indoor use it does struggle to focus. There is lot of shutter lag. And the flash is just LED, not xenon. So if you want a phone with a decent camera, I'd suggest get something else (Nokia N82 is good). Like ASD has mentioned in his reply, the cameras on smartphones are not as good as those on the so called "camera phones". The Samsung Omnia boasts a 5mp camera, but that too I think doesn't have a xenon flash.
About the firmware upgrade… I haven't tried it yet, so can't give you a feedback on that. Actually I have seen mixed reviews on the upgrade. Some people say that it's improved the camera and overall performance, some say it hasn't made much difference. It's still too early 'coz the UK Generic firmware upgrade was released only a few weeks back. I'll read up on it a little more before I give it a shot. Don’t wanna play around with the firmware unnecessarily

how is the display quality of x1? what about its price?Display quality is very good! Im real happy with the brightness of it, and the touch sensitive is very good!
About the price: It depends wich country.
Here in Holland its around the €630.- without a contract including tax.
