Maybe somebody could help me on e-mail attachment. If I am going to open the attachment, it says you can open next time you receive e-mail (words something to this effect). Then it's fine, the next time I have received e-mail, I can open those attachments already. Perhaps it has something to do with my setting. Anyway, I am really enjoying my XPERIA X1 and since I bought it more than 2 weeks ago, it works perfect and I have not experienced any problems whatsoever.

my friend has nokia Nseries with 16M colors and 5MP camera, he showed me how great the camera picture is but when he saw his camera picture on my x1 screen, he suprised he said "wow amazing, how can the picture is better than on my phone, the colors look sharp, clear and deep, it is look like more than 16M colors"

what will be happen if i show my VGA video on WVGA screen to him? i think he will be dead with his phone hehe

until now i use Manila 3Dtouch floo, iphone and android UI on X1, i enjoy it very much n i heard symbian UI will be ported to x1 soon with WVGA resolution so if someone said x1 is not good then NOKIA symbian, G1, iphone and HTC will be not good too haha
X1 is not a phone but many phone on 1 phone...

In Announcements, Applications, Developer, Hottest Hardware, Sony Ericsson, Windows Mobile

We never get tired of software updates that promise to speed up or add functionality to our smartphones. One of the hottest smartphones of the year has just gotten its first firmware update. The Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) XPERIA X1 has apparently been spotted on EMMA, which is Sony Ericsson’s service software intended for service centers to update devices. The new Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 firmware has apparently hit version 1.03.936.6 and bears the R2A designation.

The new firmware build has been reported to speed up boot-times and decrease signal-acquisition times, but an official change-log has yet to emerge. Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 owners in the US will be looking for the “X1a GENERIC NAM CDF1219-1224 KOV_R2AA008.rar” file on EMMA (Google (NSDQ: GOOG) is your friend).
            This is EMMA

            This is EMMA

Those of you lucky enough to actually own a Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 should take note - regardless of what error messages you might see, updating to the v1.03.936.6 ROM will indeed update your XPERIA X1 with the newest firmware.

As always, back-up your data before updating your firmware. It might also be a good idea to give the xda-developers thread on the XPERIA X1 firmware update.

No problems wt so ever. Also battery life is really good even after 1.5 months.

And using it is not hard at all. This was my 1st windows mobile and i had my share of confusions as well but after getting it and snooping around the web a bit I am learning to use it to its potential.

I can guarantee that you, as a new user, will love upgrading and finding out new things abt X1 everyday.

                    I m still discovering it myself :P

Macky - To be able to download all available panels, your SIM card should be internet-capable as you can download all panels straight from XPERIA X1. Just use the Internet Explorer or Opera Browser, you will go directly to sonyericsson website and from there you can install the rest of the panels.

The good news is that you can set up the Xperia to receive emails just like a Blackberry would.

I just bought X1 for a week, found out that its dpad area is prone to peel off on the edges. My suggestion is please do not exert to much fingernail pressure when working on the dpad area. Making the built quality questionable for a premium pda

avinersan, 27 Jan 2009more mpx on a small sensor is actually a bad thing ! - the more dense the pixels are on a give... moreHi avinersan, you have added another dimension to my post - the size of the image sensor.

I was trying to say the same thing - that a 3.2mp is not necessarily poor (unlike what most people think). I use my phone's camera only if I dont have access to my DSLR or my compact, and mostly set at 2mp 'coz as you said, higher mpixel pics will take longer to process in the phone (camera).

What people should remember is that however good a phone's camera is, it is not a replacement for a regular digital camera. In fact it can not compete even with a low-end ultracompact camera.

But on the other hand, when you dont have any other camera on you, the phone's camera is the best one. It's better to take a not-so-good picture of an important/memorable moment, than to not take a picture at all.

So people, please stop complaining about the X1's camera only because it's a 3.2mp.
