Yeah, you still have high hopes for WinMo 6.5 - don´t you read GSMArena News :)

GSMArena News:

˝AT&T to ditch WinMo over Symbian, iPhone may stay˝

(AT&T is the largest service provider in the US)

˝Windows Mobile 6.5 leaks and skeptics' predictions come true˝

I guess we need to wait for Win Mo 7 - just hope that will be decent - in 2011?

i have good news for X1 owner..

1. x1 6.1 winmo OS will be updated to 6.5 winmo OS
2. ROM updates for X1 right now..everything on x1 will be faster n smooth than before and Sony ericsson has added many new features on it
3. With Xperia ROM updates surfacing,, I just found out that Sony Ericsson is hosting a Live Webinar on January 29th. Though the description of the webinar only detailed it to showcase the power of Xperia and the Panels interface, i wonder if this webinar will be more than just that? Can we expect news on the update, an in-depth review on the changes, and new panels? What do you think?
4. you can run 3 UI OS at once time on a X1 panel (Iphone UI, Android UI and Touch floo 3D)

Drama, 24 Jan 2009Ray, I have had a look at the Handango site in regards to the Microsoft Voice Command, but ... moreDrama,

I thought I did see on Handango that MS Voice Command is compatible with X1. Or maybe I saw Microsoft's site that it's compatible with Winmo 5 & 6.

Anyway, I have got it on my phone now. And it sure works fine. I guess there are a few minor things that dont work (or maybe I did not play enough to make it work) - One of them is that caller name should be announced when there's an incoming call.

But other than this, I have found everything else working fine. The most important feature for me is to "lookup" or "call" a contact, which this does fine. I can check whose call I missed, and use the "callback" command. I check what's my next task, or appointments for today/tomorrow. All seem to work well. Sometimes, I check the battery status and signal strength, just to play :-)

There's a video on youtube too showing how MS-VC works on X1. Check it out.

Cheers!
Ray UK

XPERIA X1 remains the best phone available on the market. Screen is as clear as crystal, fast processor, nice design, battery is excellent, internet browsing, etc. Really, since I bought my unit a month ago, I hever experience a single problem. SE gives us a truly fantastic phone in our lives, plus I really love the amazing XPanel not to mention the audio is really nice. So, let us enjoy our EXPERIA X1 and forget those people who lambasted XPERIA because in reality, they don't own a unit at all. Long live Sony Ericsson.

X1 was announced FEB. 2008 almost a year ago!!!!

It was a working model then.
Released much later.

If all the unit preproduction since :)) when they gonna start producing the real X1s?
Who will produce them - HTC? Or Sagem?

Sagem produces some of the SE units.

˝Sony Ericsson Lost 73 Million Euro in 2008; Confirms Android for the Future˝

this is not a in depth article :) - dude :)

It is an announcement with a short comment.

Please, buy a newspaper once in a while.

It also tells us the view of the president of SE.

He will not go on ... he almost cried already.

and it is clear that even SE is not happy with WinMo!!!!!

Almost all current smart phones outsells X1.

Iphone outsells all WinMo phones COMNBINED.

LG and Samsung sell tons.

X1 does not sell at all.

BTW: if you had three phones and give away two to get the X1 :) you are still fine - as long as you do not rely on the reception and battery of the X1.

There's a reason why many many businessmen/women ditched their winmo handsets, switched to Blackberry, and never came back, and it's happening as we speak I'm sure. Don't get me wrong Nokia and SE still have fans...teenagers...and pardon me if you guys are teenagers then these phones are good for you since you don't need features offered by Blackberry which is useful mainly for business and work. I notice there's hardly business people crowding Nokia/SE stores or events, most of the crowd are teenagers...

Anonymous, 26 Jan 2009Just read the sparse barely legible comments. I can see why WinMo wouldn't appeal to people wh... moreOh yeah?? There's also a reason why most business professionals I see use Blackberry phones and stay away from Windows Mobile. And a word "professional" on a product can be used by anything which doesn't guarantee it being a true professional product lol so much for a name. How many junk products bear the word professional why a far cry from being professional. It doesn't mean a thing to have that word, quality speaks for itself...

Since Blackberry licensed push email to MS etc it has nothing over symbian, windows mobile or any other platform. It's doing ok,but that's only because people don't realize a symbian or wm device can do everything a blackberry can and a lot more.
