Someone suggested a few days ago that any vote below 5 is discarded - obviously, people who had problems with the X1 - many - voted less than 5. During the first few weeks after release the net was flooded with complaint.

SE also has a very powerful PR department - do you think they might vote? :))))

      The most telling to me:
      1: low sales figures
2: X1 is given away for free!!!!! FREE!!!
I do not care about voting results!

The metal finish looks like my P1 and I love it. But I'd hate to find a crack after having modded the phone and having difficulties to return it. Or worse, after the warranty has ended.
The X1 has some good features though.

I agree HTC is not known for its high quality of manufacturing - SE still contracted HTC for the X1.

What strange is that HD is much more reliable than X1.

SE should have made special requirements about QA protocols.

SE is the most overrated phone on the market - by the fans

There are some widely reported problems with the X1:
(yes, some of you may got a perfect unit , but not every body - please understand that ;)

                1: Reception problems
                2: Wifi problems
3: battery weak (probably due to RAM leakage)

                4: case cracks
                Manufacturing error /lack of QA
                http://pockethacks.com/cracks-...r-xperia-x1/

5:Software crash / needed hard reset

                6: incompatibility with application
                due to screen resolution

                7: unit gets hot
                (battery?)

                8: low speaker volume

Not all units have all of these but one or two of these is enough to get the user dissatisfied with the X1.

But, if you are who do not care, or happened to have a perfect unit ;)
                - this post is not for you!
                Do not get worked-up :))))

I would hate to have such an expensive handset develop a crack as has been widely reported. O2 would kick a major fuss, and try to get out of it. So Touch Pro it is.
See the previous link which reports that Xperia has dedicated video ram.

But then I'm utterly intrigued by the panels. I'm currently trying to get my X1 ordered but the damned phone company is giving me nothing but grief (mobiles.co.uk). Currently the only other handset that may sway me away from the X1 is the HTC Touch HD. The X1 is a much nicer looking handset though, and it has the QWERTY keyboard and the navigation widget (handy in case there are ever issues with the touchscreen). That, and I've had nothing but good experiences with SE, and I've heard a few horror stories about HTC handsets...

There is a comparison chart on there. Am intrigued. Can the X1 be considered a better handset as they seem to imply?
I received my TP couple of days ago but have yet to give it a good run. Waiting for a stable Rom to flash it with.
Regarding your comments, SE contracted HTC to build a handset that had to meet certain spec. In return HTC had to ensure that their flagship handset was a good competitor. There isn't much of a case of one company fooling the other.

                              SE made a huge mistake!

As far as the battery: X1 battery specs looks good on paper but actual performance is lousy. IT has been suggested that there is a RAM leakage.

My assumptions are based on Gsmarena's figures.
But differences in radio/rom and custom settings affect that.
I have seen a youtube video comparing the browsing capabilities, and the TP is the better one.
The 3.5mm audio jack is negligible since an adapter is provided.
The TP has a much better keypad than the X1.
There is a logic that one has to consider, HTC would not make a product (the X1) that would be better than their own and would be in direct competition with their flagship handset of 2008.
