I have this phone for about two weeks now, but still i hvan't figuered out yet if you can assign an mp3 ringtone to someone WITHOUT having to copy it from your memory card to the phone's memory. Does anyone know the answer?
thank you to everyone who shared their honest comments about the Xperia X1 based on their experience using it.
after reading all the comments abt pros & cons out there, i really want to know..is this phone worth it? or if compared to Touch pro which one is better?
why is there no review or 360 view for this phone if it's the highest ranking phone on this site?

BTW, in my family we use WM for long time, and we still use an old device without ANY crash!
I am not a big fan of WM but it can be reliable even in a HP device (very old and used daily)- which not famous about its reliable units. :))))
So the argument that people having problems (crashes etc.) with X1 because the unfamiliarity with WM is hilarious :)))
Yes, you are the smart one and we all just not smart enough for an X1 :)))))
I bought my SE Xperia X1 3 days back was very happy unpacking it. Its got lovely panels. BUt the sound sucks, even on the highest volume the sound is not very audible. hope something can be done about this. thnxx
Only buy the unit if your used to WM or at least willing to learn from websites such as modaco.com and xda-developers.com.If your not willing to put some effort in or are technically deficient then I'm afraid your going to be making comments like the numpty below.
I suggest to all fanatics.
Okay, you do not need to believe all the users negative experience with the X1.
Go and buy the unit, use it for 1 WEEK, but get it with a good return policy!
You will take it back most likely.
Especially, once you have seen the competition.
˝The most disappointing about X1 is its speed. The handset is slow, it’s very slow. We have to wait a couple of seconds for the programs to launch, screen switches aren’t fast either,.....˝
The price yesterday was 895 USD
the latest price: 860 USD (Today)
Tomorrow probably about 830 USD
In about 2 weeks: 700 USD
In two months : no point to buy even for hardcore SE FANS - Hikaru will be out!!!!!!
Quote from a Pro-Review:
˝Summary: I don’t know what to say… Xperia has been a huge disappointment for me.˝
(not a prototype!)

Typically I spend about £70 a month, but it can be as high as £100 sometimes. I requested an early upgrade, told 'em I'd happily commit to an additional 18 months if they gave me an X1. No dice, so I'm putting my line rental down as low as I can and taking out another on O2 through mobiles.co.uk. The worst bit is, the b@st@rds are sending me my first bill in 2 weeks - before I get the phone or even my SIM. I know where I'll be telling them they can stick it sideways...

Ive used my SE P990i for more than a year and had to put up with 2 to 5 crashess per week, (have cheked this with others using diferant phones on deferend networks having the same problem) I changed back to an ordanery 32k simcard with full videocalling capabelleties and havend had a single crash for 2.5 months now. You might have the same problem with SE X1i (The software preinstalled on the 64k simcard tries to rewrite itself on the mobile ......bla bla bla and then crashes) it phono might not be so bad aferall....
When the n95 first appeared on the scene it was woeful i know because i owned one.It was very buggy, random restarts happened 3-4 times a day it was also really sluggish.Over time nokia released better firmware and the n95 became a usable good phone.I see a similar scenario.Xperia isn't quite as bad as early n95's but it's not yet perfect

Its ok becuase iv got to wait 5 months till my upgrade is due, so i still got enough time for SE to deliver hehe
