can someone tell us what the pic quaitly is like and compares too.

and does the gps works directly with satelite or is it AGPS where you need a data plan and maybe paid subscribition to SE Servers like nokia etc.

These two questions are stopping me from buying it.
I know SE will fix the sound in the next firmware upgrade.

This is actually a very good phone. Having played around with it for a few days, my only one gripe?

The 800 by 480 screen is JUST TOO SMALL! WHY?!?!?!

brynn, 15 Nov 2008Have got the orange touch with double the ram and rom and its fairly nippy..I think what i got... moreAh I see. It is true WM6 is geared more towards corporate users and does lack some fancy dan eye candy however recent WM devices are pretty capable on the multimedia front . N95 through to N96 saw very little differences, I don't think the same could be said of a HTC kaiser through to the Xperia X1. The new Open Source Symbian platform looks interesting as does WM7....

smartWatchM 1.2.0.0 is a notification application for Windows Mobile Phone which uses the Sony Ericsson AT Commands over Serial Port Profile to connect to Sony Ericsson and other Bluetooth watches to provide text and picture notifications on the watch itself. Supported features are SMS notification, Appointments, Missed call notification, Caller ID, Music player control, setting the time of the watch from the phone and many many more functions. If you have a SE Bluetooth Watch and a WM Phone this free application is indeed invaluable.

I got my xperia recently. Sony did a good job, but sound volume is still very low. hardly hear anything. I had to let go of this. key borad appears friendly, but practically it is not soo. Hope sony ever listen to customers and add volume button in their phones.

In the Past i had HTC hand set S730 and then Dimond Touch..But all these HAnd Set was Slow and at that time i was fedup from Windows Mobile. But when i use Xperia ...finaly i change my Mind because Xperia comes with Extra RAM and Extra Processor Speed. i am using Xperia and i do appriciate ...i like Xperia style its similer to HTC HAnd set but in performence wise its GOOD then other hand set. its true Sybians HAND Sets and IPHON is faster. but in Windows MObiles Xperia is Briliant.

Anonymous, 15 Nov 2008brynn your missing the point of buying a WM device. It's all about adding to what you've alrea... moreHave got the orange touch with double the ram and rom and its fairly nippy..I think what i got bothered about was it was supposed to be an s/e version and their take on the htc touch pro with cybershot and walkman plus vga video record to enhance the windows experiance(well that is what i was lead to believe on early videos)..What seems to have happened over the months is these bits have just gone and its just really the panels and screen towering over winmo 6.1..I expected this to be a multimedia device and having some equalisers and s/e cam/mp3 player alongside winmo out of the box but it does not offer such..I was well thrown by not having battery indicator i admit,,perhaps i will reassess this situation later..I am using IBE and tcpmp to get some satisfaction but find a little adjustment in treble or bass can send horrific amounts of distortion into earbuds even reducing pre-amp down a notch or two,,its not ive turned it up to loud distortion its just within the software or amp..I like the all in one unit since have no digicam or mp3 player and my n82 does fine but looked forward to xperia to get best of both worlds ie some s/e stuff as mentioned above plus multitasking and customisable o/s its just not promised on the s/e input as i would have liked..

The Touch Flo 3d has been ported to X1,does it mean that all interface in x1 will look like touch diamond/pro?? I love the finger friendlyness of touch flo 3d interface,it is all big & accessible.
