Sony Ericsson is taking their cellphones to the next level, with the goal of producing 12-20-megapixel equipped camera phones in 2012.
Sony Ericsson is taking their cellphones to the next level, with the goal of producing 12-20-megapixel equipped camera phones in 2012.
Looking towards the somewhat near future, SE is envisioning a new line of phones that boast an XGA (1024 x 768) display, a fast CPU of 1GHz, and an Internet connection of at least 100 Mbps.
In addition to the more robust hardware, they're hoping to throw in a digital camera that can snap huge 12-20 megapixel digital images. This camera will also be able to record footage in full high definition, rivaling modern camcorders.
"We have an image of a mobile terminal equipped with digital camera and camcorder capabilities of the future," said Jonas Lundstedt, Ericsson's Director Portfolio Management.
While the camera feature would certainly be nice, it's yet to be known if the sensors are going to hold up their part of the deal. While a 12 megapixel cellphone camera may sound intriguing,

Don't get betrayed by nokia fanboys who seem so jealous that nokia cannot produce a set like this. Its a greta set, I repeat its a GREAT set, better than any nokia crap, only nokia fanboys and those noobs who don't know anything about windows mobile are creating confusions here, most of those people who only know how to switch a pc on and don't know anything about windows are calling this set crap, its an extremely stylish and elegant set, with lots of features. Hey nokia fan boys...how many firmware updates n95 took to become stable??do you even know that??n95 was extremely buggy when it was released, X1 is nowhere as buggy as was N95.
But I can understand how nokia fan boys are feeling, lost and depressed because no nokia can compete with this set and with N96 becoming a big flop...I can understand why are they so upset. Just don't listen to them.

brynn, 09 Nov 2008Could you report back soon please to see if you think battery is poor,, good or rilliant battery life is quite impressive... i m the owner of this ph, n i have to charge it in 36hrs that is aftr a lot of usage... now u cant expect a pocket pc to give u more battery life than this.. isint it...
