SE said Q4 2008, we're getting it at the beginning of Q4. Check their previous release schedules, SE usually release around the middle or end of a quarter. They promised us it would ship on sept 30th and it did. The retailers are not selling it yet, but that's not got anything to do with SE...

This phone the so called X1 is due for release on 9th October 2008. Its been delayed due to change in specifications. As we speak the phone is being distributed around store in England. So your patience has paid off after all. Its finally here ladies and gentlemen! Enjoy!

guyz i just talk to the SE office staff... They said that the X1 will be release on november... just wai and hav patience on waiting it. X1 should be the Mobile Phone of the Year and Smart Phone of the Year. I think E71 is not deserving to be the smart and pobile fone of the yir...

Why all the comments about Sony Ericcson being too late with this one. They're probably just trying to get it right the first time around. I'm glad they aren't rushing it. It's not like it's going to he outdated by the time it comes out. I'd honestly would love for Sony to place a PSP style UI into this phone. That would he pretty sweet.

U wally's,,, I have bought all 3 of the best cellphones ever made,, those are the samsung i900 the nokia 5800,and the xperia x1,, they are all exelent, the nokia for its music capabilities that elimatante the iphone,(by the way) and the i900 and xperia both have unique features that destroy any previous phone that had windows mobile, so get with the times and stop comparing everything and confusing your selves. and no im not a rich fool,, i work for a cellphone store and at minimum wage still able to jugle getting all three the phones and eating like a king. just use money wisely, no complaints u ppl raise are worthy of being noted cuz they are adolecsent

Pro does not have accelormeter in every screen. Touch pro has it in only photos, opera, youtube, and videos by default you can view in landscape. Others stuff like programs, e-mails, and setting you can view once you open the keyboard.

HTC has 288 mb ramYou are right, but the real testing will prove if this additional ram will make a difference or not. There are other factors that affect the performance of the phone and you can not blindly say because ram are more the phone will be faster.
The speed may not be notable between the pro and xperia.

and non of HTC phones have the special panel UI or the finger focus or the PSP media style.

Just spoke to Sony Ericsson About the XPERIA X1 all they say is in Australia it is no longer being released 30 Sep obviously as we can see and that it will be released by the end of the year. So maybe still a wait ahead.
