i prefer to buy X1 at first because SE said that x1 will be the one of phone which use panel system and 6.1 WM OS...x1 is very flexible can be up date continuely by download new panels and on the a panel you can add many shortcut or applications so of course i never get boring with X1. And the 2nd i will buy the next htc touch floo series because iam sure the next htc phone will still use 3D touch floo maybe use 7 WM OS so i shouldnt buy htc phone right now
I like the two X on the front panel, that illuminates in the dark ! Nice work from the designers ! Xperia, could be called/nicknamed/codename, the X phone , or also S E X (Sony Ericsson Xperia) . And finally could have appeared in a sequel of the X-men series.

pg 4 says there's two versions
x1i : which has 3g bands of 900, 1900, 2100
x1a : which has 3g bands of 850, 1900, 2100
the international version records at 30 FPS in VGA
the American version also records in QVA. (due to patents i think)
Americans always gets screwed with phones.
scoopyscoopy, 18 Sep 2008HTC HD or SONY X1 or SAMSUNG Omnia ????
HTC HD
- a good resolution and large screen
- don... morei agree with you but i can't comment about x1 keyboard because nobody knows final product of x1 keyboard so i hope SE fix the keyboard that implemented in x1 prototype
65k is an operating system limitation, not related to SE. All windows mobile operating systems handsets are 65k. Even if you find a review saying 256k you also see a note saying (65k effective).
Cambodia, 18 Sep 2008Dose the Xperia X1 has accelerometer sensor?
If it has, does it automatically rotate the pi... moreYes it has. (written in the specs!!!)
And not only it rotates the photos, but also it rotates the whole main menu!
Anonymous, 18 Sep 2008why the hell 65k colors only???
unlike the other SE phones 256k!!! and nokia 16M colors???Because it's Window Mobile Phone. Every Window Mobile Phone just support 65k colours.
Why do you need 256k or 16M when at the first time you look at any phone, you can't notice it's 65k or 16M?
why the hell 65k colors only???
unlike the other SE phones 256k!!! and nokia 16M colors???
I'm wanting to know how this phone is, so if anyone has tried it, please help me? Thanks
So this phone has A-GPS which I think means Geo-Tagging is possible am I right in thinking this? Also with GPS receiver does this mean Sat Nav functions are free? wb JK
Dose the Xperia X1 has accelerometer sensor?

Thanks.
deanna, 18 Sep 2008so which one look sharp and clear picture ? 65k , 256k or 16m colors thanksalso refer to crow's (20089-09-17 13:21) post:
what crow said is also correct.
but, if you compare 800x480 screen with the 340x240 (for example), still only the number of colors can be shown at any one time per pixel(65k, 256k & 16m).
if your screen has only got 76.8k (340x240)pixels, only 76.8k colors can be shown at a time from the available amount, either 65k, 256k or 16m. with 65k, some colors has to be shown twice to fill all 76.8k pixels!
your question was which one is sharp and clear, it will obviously be the 16m color. but this will specifically be for moving pictures as the variations in color for say 30fps is much more.
although the human eye cannot distinguish between all the 16m colors, the picture will appear sharper and clearer. some people will disagree here again, but that is a fact.
also just remember, it is not the screen of the X1 that has got a limitation to 65k colors, it is MW6.1 that can only process 16 bites per pixels

i know..
X1i is 900/1900/2100
X1a is 850/1900/2100
.. i have Tmobile. i know people are saying the X1a is the international version.. does it matter which i get? i know ATT works on the 850 network but Tmobile uses it only as roaming? so it shouldn't matter to me? o.O
am i right or wrong?
can i just get the X1i imported? and be just fine?
I just wondered how did almost 50,000 people voted for this device when it is not even in the market yet. Hidden hands of Sony Ericsson???
thanks alot, umm would the x1i work just as well with the tmobile 3g? or am i better off with a x1a, cause i really dont want to wait anymore
Anonymous, 18 Sep 2008is it true there is two verison of the x1? x1a and the x1i? i heard that the x1a would only re... more
it's true there are different versions of X-X1
Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 / X1i / X1c /&/ X1a
no major difference except for the network supported (which is a minor one: UMTS900 / UMTS850), and the release date/period.
