bob, 07 Sep 2008Vodafone UK currently have the release date of this phone sitting at 05/10/08. However, I hav... moretheir have been plenty of official rumours from gadget sites about the 2009 release,,they are unfounded and voda and o2 will stock it next month(nothing is concrete)..

If xperia is not launched i am going for e90 second hand or n96,, innov8 or htc touch pro as my upgrade is due november.Failing that i am cancelling contract with voda and making it payg and just carry on with n82/k770/n6630 combo till something really decent arrives..

Next year android,,mobio fone,,garmin nuvifone and a host of other devices are due and just to go off course a bit the n96 is to include bbc i-player as a download..I am just going day by day to see what goes on but need something new as the n82 is just miserable to look at and updating it to v20 has caused umpteen probs.

Have also been using voda treo 500v for a while but trying to get a free music player with equaliser and getting video fullscreen using qcif vids is agro but on the whole a good device but shortcuts are awkward and photos are average etc..does qvga video@15fps

Has anybody find a software which can handle WVGA(can be viewed in that resolution)?
And what about the other programs that has been written for QVGA or the other popular screen resolution?

Bravia phone in japa, 07 Sep 2008Is that a 100 million color phone?I don't know too much about the specs but if you are really curious the model number is SO906i. You can find it on the Japanese site of Sony Ericsson or the site of its Japanese carrier(NTT Docomo).

I think those websites with Sony splitting with Ericsson are FAKE! i mean if they really were officially splitting.. then it would be on the news and on BBC etc etc
so those websites with that news on are clearly FAKING IT! its false news!
all SE fans will agree with me.
Nokia fans will deny it because they know theyv faked the news...

Crying about the fact that SE is not running symbian on the XPERIA is getting old. Symbian is good for being a phone focused OS, but lets face it, XPERIA is more than just a phone. If WM is so bad, just get a mid-low end phone running symbian. Symbian is perfect for those who just want to talk on the phone. Sure WM is a bit complicated, but then again it is also more advanced. High-end phones need high-end OSs. I've used Symbian UIQ for 2 years, and it's OK. But I've outgrown its limited capabilities and 3rd party software. There is so much more that can be done on WM, plus the 3rd party software available on it. I'm pretty sure that the people complaining about WM either have not tried it, dislike Microsoft, or have used it but didn't have any use for its advanced features.

Well i have E90 right now and Symbian is realy great, phone fucused OS, and mutimedia also. But i hardly got i decent Windows Messenger program, Remote desktop program is just sad to look and soo on...

Useful for many peoples, but i realy need Windows Mobile, cause it is the only OS fro smartphone that can replace your computer, symbian is just soooooo limited it angers me...

Symbian and associate s fill the web with propaganda.Symbian isn't as stable as some would have you believe. The n95 8GB,N82,E90 have 128MB RAM and pretty fast if insufficient CPU's...thought symbian OS was meant to be light on resources!Yeah at last poster type opera:config on symbian opera then try the same with windows mobile opera :-)

It's silly to say Symbian costs more for a manufacturer to use.Don't get me wrong Symbian is a great operating system it appeals to the masses and is ideal to use in less capable devices. For proper pda's you want a powerful os that is flexible. With winmo you can customize virtually everything..from touch screen sensitivity to tcp windows.WinMo applications are more feature rich than symbian apps If you don't believe me compare symbian opera to WM opera or a Symbian torrent client to the WM torrent client-Big differences.
