This is x1 to start with and x2 further on and this x1 does miss tv out and 3.5mm jack but these are easily worked around ..

You know that HTC makes this phone right?

And as for your other comments, you just gave an opinion, not facts.

Based on facts, this phone just isn't that great anymore.

And I have had 4 SE phones so it's not like I'm not a fan.

Can anyone with a level head tell me why this phone is so great?

Uff + one thing, oanels will just rock, do you imagine having facebook open in one panel, MobileTV in other, Google panel, youtube in another, leave everything open so you can acces every application on the phone with a button and than slecting panel...
Revoliciaonary for me.
I just hate how hard it is to swap between aplications, so this is also one of magor pluses. You can have Toutch Flo3D from HTC in one panel lool!

BUT that is on the inside+camera+conectivity.

THE only thing different is the outside, that is why you chose a phone.
First of all phone without qwerty is aphone, phone with qwerty is a LAPTOP!

So that is why Omnia and a lot od that phones are not suitable for a lot of people.

The next thing is style and arc slider is something all phone i will have from now on till i die will have...

So in short the best of top phones is Omnia, while the best of Top QWERTY phones is X1.

P.S: If Omnia had qwerty i would buy Omnia

What makes this phone so great?

The build quality? The camera? The features?
What? I really need to know because this looks like a HTC Touch Pro to me.

I am more excited about the C905 than I am about this phone that is taking so long to come out in WinMo 6.1's twilight years.

So someone please enlighten me on why this is better than say the Omnia or Innov8.

SE could do much better for the X1. I think d spec of d X1 is not as par as Samsung Omnia. After all, it's in same class range, right? Don't get me wrong, I like Ericsson, even b4 they changed d name to Sony Ericsson. With two advance companies, they could much much better than this. The X1 have to keep up w/ other current handsets that's already available today from Apple iPhone and Samsung Omnia. Like the builtin memory, cam pixels, 3G, Wi-Fi (curently is already three of them b, g & n), VoIP, etc.
I hope the still pending status by SE X1, is to keep up w/ the current technologies. I'm currently using an E90, N95, Atom Life and I'm already bored w/ those phones. iPhone for me is nothing to rave around, iPhone Bluetooth can only be paired w/ a handfree device? What a big joke & waste. iPhone doesn't have a recording feature. Yeah, I may think I will not use it everyday. But, for the the price those gadgets are selling in the market for the consumers today. I would like all those latest available features, it comes in quite handy when you least expect it. X1 and iPhone doesn't grab my full attention just yet.

Updating firmware on a Windows Mobile phone is extremely easy. It is a matter of plugging it into the pc, running the installer on the pc, click next a couple of times and wait for the installation to finish.

The installation process is very safe as well. If you update your phone and the power fails halfway through, the phone will still boot on the old firmware and operate normally. Only when the installation completes will the new firmware be active. So the chance of bricking your device is very small, watch out for hacked firmware though.

The installation file is usually available from the phone brand. But there are alot of hacked firmwares out there as well which will look and operate differently, some of them is faster and more stable than the official releases.

I am sure that after windows mobile 7 is released you will be able to download it from SE's website and install it yourself. So there would be no reason for SE to wait for Feb next year to release because of windows mobile 7.

Or in short, it is free if it comes out, and that depends on Sony how much support they want this phone. HTC usualy offers upgrade to devices that are not older than 1 year, Well fro SE we don't know how he works, because this is the first Windows Mobile phone...

updating WM6 to 7 is not hard to do i have upgrade from WM5 to 6. All you have to do is dl the version you want backup your data install the new version and everything on your ph will be reset to default. The only catch is does your device have enough cpu power to handle the greater version and do you have enough ram. bye.

bishiee, 02 Sep 2008hey i visited my t-mobile retailer and they always have every single sony ericsson like ever a... moreWell that guy was probably lying to you as tmobile store. They have not carried every Ericsson phone. While you can typically buy unlocked phones from non carrier retailers that would be compatible with tmobile I haven't seen an Ericsson exclusive to them in years. Most Ericsson phones if exclusive to any US carrier are exclusive to AT&T.
