On the manufacturer's website, the Xperia's specs include 1700MHz 3G compatibility along with three other frequency bands. I've got TMobile too, and I didn't want to have to switch carriers to pick up this phone. So don't worry, everything should work out. Now, if only T-Mobile wouldn't be 2 years behind with their technology...

The data service assistance ist optional. You can simply install the navigation software of your choice and use it as a normal navigation device. The only thing to keep in mind is the rather unusual display resolution. So it's adviceable to check wether the software can run in 800x480. I've seen a video of Co Pilot running on a X1 beta device and it worked fine.

This baby is amazing,
However, I'm hearing that a release date of anything from September to November 2008 is on the cards.
Hope this info is fairly accurate, as SE are known for big delays.

does this phone have the same features like the navigator phone? what i need is free gps navigation with voice command.
not like my nokia n95, that time i try to use the gps, to navigate to some where, i only use it for 15mins ended paying $30.

I think the release date of Xperia will be simultaneous with Touch Pro. You know, the whole contract and agreement between SE and HTC.
