Sone, 19 Jul 2008What up Brynn I have a Q Is that 7201a chipset only in tha x1i or only in tha x1? PeaceWell, the x1i uses 7200a chipset while the x1a uses the 7201a chipset. The latter is the same as in htc diamond with max CIF/QVGA video recording capability. The 7200a chipset is the 1 with VGA capability. The reason for different chipsets is the lawsuit by broadcomm against qualcomm which restricts the use of qualcomm chipsets with VGA capability in the U.S. So, in short the U.S. version of xperia is less powerful than the international version. Refer to the white papers of xperia for further details.

I have a Q

Am I missing something here?SE always said x1 would be released in september so how can people be expect x1 to be on the market now?!SE should never make another Symbian device..leave that for nokia.SE concentate on the smaller but professional market.. the dummies wil always be impressed with nokia s60\'s
Good Bye SE X1. Enough of waiting. Just bought OMNIA i900. Quite good. Sick of waiting. Singapore
Well I believe SE is responsible for their own actions over losing the annual sales targets, not making enough profit as they're still on the same old and fussy policy, not launching inovative handsets, kinds same style in all series of phones, UIQ is limited. There are so many shortfalls and long list of getting strategy wrong but I'm still waiting for X1 to buy one and hoping this flagship handset will play his role to bring the company to the shore.

Anonymous, 19 Jul 2008So that's why this phone doesn't get out, they fired their workers. Probably the fans may get ... moreWhat a ridiculous statement.SE commision HTC to produce a barnstorming device..commisioned the finest brains in america...informed handandgo of release date and software..spend millions in the process..know the market has shown great interest...know north america is crying out for such a device(symbian has 3percent share there) yet 6weeks before release you know SE are going to cancel the product...how silly can someone be?!!!!
Hebe Tian, 19 Jul 2008Mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson on Friday posted a 97 percent drop in second-quarter earning ... moreSo that's why this phone doesn't get out, they fired their workers. Probably the fans may get the prototypes for low price if it will never be released. Sadly, WM and Qualcomm can’t boost the phone industry; WM is too complex for businessmen and Qualcomm too slow for gamers.
What has market share got to do with this particular unit?!Nokia are a great manufacturer, they build many good devices and I say good on them but the xperia x1 offers more than any current nokia phone. If you can't see this then your ignorant or blinded by brand loyalty.I long for the day when the boys in here grow up!!!
Mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson on Friday posted a 97 percent drop in second-quarter earning and said it would slash 2,000 jobs worlwide in a move to cut costs.
Sony Ericsson's fortunes are apparently much more bleak than Nokia's.
World market share until second-quarter 2008 :
