I'd say the Xperia x1 has all bases covered with it having hardware keys, touchscreen and a hard qwerty keyboard. If you wish ,you can use/navigate applications using just the hardware keys.
can a kind person pleassseee compare this phone to samsung omnia for me pleassee..?
like their pros and cons and otr stuff..
Anonymous, 15 Jul 2008Yeah but Nokia are making a touch model to cash in on the 'numpty' sector.Touch sounds good bu... moreIf touch UI's are so undesirable, why is it that most of the top-end phones and now some of the mid-range phones are really pushing touch UI's? Almost every review of the iPhone you see goes on about how much of a dream to use the UI is. I honestly would hate to go back to using a phone with button based navigation, touch is just so handy...
Come on guys! Stop whining about a release date!
It's going to be out when it's out. I'm eager for it to appear, too. But nagging won't help.
when is X1 gonna release???
i'm waiting from March until now..
and there's no any real confirm about that..
its gonna make lots of X1's lovers will be moved to HTC Touch Diamond or Pro..
If you're thinking getting a new handset, id say the best time would be at the end of the year where all highly anticipated phone sure had been released by that time. And for us to have a clear mind on which one to get.
SE is just like Blizzard :))
keeping the fans waiting for an eternity for their products :(
since xperia and n96 will be release same time, i dont think this will pick up sales! specially that iPhone was release just last week, this phone wont pick up sales..
for the love of God SE, don't be so lame, better release C905 instead against N96.
it should be like this..
people will choose
iPhone if they want touchscreen
N96 if they want non touchscreen
C905 if they want a camera phone
Not xperia.. this july, nooooo
I found on qwerty keyboard phones its actually faster typing texts if you are a geek like me, im looking forward to this coming out, the specs seem promising... hopefully it doesent let down... wont be too dis-similar to the O2 XDA Mini S (had this a while back)
Yeah but Nokia are making a touch model to cash in on the 'numpty' sector.Touch sounds good but in practice it's RUBBISH.Power users prefer handsets like the e61 which has the RELIABLE and STABLE s60 OS plus qwerty keyboard or the n95 which has superb unmatched features and a nice keypad.Touchscreen is not needed nor wanted for power users.
whyyy people so for??? geeeez just so a simpleton said that its coming out this month AHHHHHH whyyyyyy???? please Mr. take your time!!!! Sony Ericsson releasing this phone in September!!!! or mid October!!!

Anonymous, 13 Jul 2008It's a good spec phone but whenever SE are involved you just know the problems wont be fixed a... moreI'm using the iPhone right now and you can actually text faster with it than keypads. Maybe its just some people, who knows. But to say the very least that texting with your fingers on a touchscreen is slow isn't right haha. Just depends on your taste.
Not awkward at all, since most people are switching to touchscreens now.
can anyone tell me if this phone uses a sim card or is it like the iphone where i have to get it activated.?
this is going to say 'cancelled' soon isn't it? i mean this is taking forever for a date.
AzAzeL, 14 Jul 2008Hell yeaaaaaaaaaaaH !!
this is the one guyz ..
but what about HTC touch Pro !! any comment !?
Well, the Touch Pro is surely a closely related device, but there are a few important differences which would make me prefer the X1:
- the curved slide makes the X1 easier to use with the QWERTY keyboard
- stronger battery
- a little thinner (16.7 vs. 18.1 mm)
- 800x480 display is probably better for browsing, etc.
- video capturing in VGA
BTW: I just read on bengalboy.com the X1 has got TouchFlo functional in its lates beta-ROM. :D
