when the xperia is coming? i am eagerly waiting to buy it. xperia being a powerful device i am planning to load windows vista premium with aero and office 2007 professional so that i can throw my laptop into trash.
@ Okia & NOkia
Nokia has 16million color but NOKIA doesn't have TOUCHSCREEN and VGA and NOKIA doesn't have the capactiy of 500+ MHZ processor even their King and Queen N95 and N82 tsk tsk tsk but not like SE they have 500+ MHZ processor for fast browsing through internet...SE rules
Just because n95 or other n-series are popular does not mean n95 etc are better!Ford sell more cars than ferrari, sekonda sell more watches than rolex. The xperia might have similar features but if you look at the detail the device really can deliver.N-series are really poor at internet browsing and can't do any serious tasks(terminal services and such like) and lets face it the e90 is just a big slow n95 with a hard awkward keyboard.
did ur beautiful communicator had quad band GSM+EDGE and quad band UMTS with HSDPA+HSUPA (3.5G) technology, ppl without real tech information comes in this forum and start to give their 2 cents
this phone will be released mid-september.
just a question, but can't the usb be used as a tv out on projectors or tv's that support the usb?
when dis fone be released???????????????????????????????????????????????????
i would buy the HTC diamond if getting delayed.
xperia fans are getting consolation by comparing the two year old features of N95, E90 with the yet to be released X1. Even 9500 communicator had these features 4 years back.
comparing the xperia with N95, E90 and N92?
Xperia is too young and the features that it is having is already implemented 2 years back itself in N95. Anyhow who needs the touch screen which comes by default because it is powered by windows mobile.
no one can seriously discuss about this phone becoz no one has ever seen it becoz it is not even launched. comparing it to N95, E90 and N82 proves that this phone is in infant stages as these nokia powerhouses were launched long back and selling in millions already.
First up is the X1's engine bay...... Powered by a Qualcomm 7201A 528mhz processor, with 512mb of ROM memory onboard (380mb available for storage) and 128mb of RAM, the X1 is more than adequately powered for serious application, internet and multi-tasking performance. With such a large ROM the X1 will be able to store "on device" all of your most frequently used and important applications freeing up your Micro SD card for Media such as photographs, video, songs and documents.....
Providing the suspension for the X1's engine is the Windows Mobile Professional 6.1 operating system. A very big deal considering Sony Ericsson was one of the original companies that supported and provided development of the Symbian operating system. Haha... finally realizing that it could never provide a truely serious device with such a lame ass operating system, Sony Ericsson did it right by enlisting the help of HTC in developing the companies first Windows Mobile Device. Very Smart Sony Ericsson!!
First up is the phone hardware and performance of the Sony Ericsson X1. The X1 is a GSM (Global System for Mobile communication) voice and WCDMA (Wide Band Code Division Multiple Access) 3G high speed data, enabled device.
A thoughtful software feature in the phone settings is the automatic SMS message for times when you reject a call. It lets the caller know that you recognize the call, but, your too busy right now to talk or you can customize the message to suit your needs...

16m color is great..............yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes
since you knew a lot of things about HTC (which makes you a fanboy, bigtime!)...why don't you just go back to the htc thread and educate people who posts there. then we'll have world peace
its actually 'common knowledge' by now that HTC is the OEM/ODM for the SE X1. if you just found this out NOW - then you really know alot LESS than you think.
also, SO WHAT!??? 'so what' if HTC made the 'innards' of the X1? fact of the matter is - it was SE who came up with the 'concept' FIRST now if HTC makes a device similar to the X1 then they are just 'copying' SE now, dont you agree!??
and, HTC cannot make a similar device to the X1 UNDER THEIR NAME RIGHT AWAY because of their contract with Sony Ericsson!!!
jeez... people here seriously needs to think a bit more...
VERY SMART BUT GUESS WHAT?dont compare the expected X1 with N82,try the powerful E90.okay dear!?then you're long list will no longer be there.
I was expecting the X1 mid MAY but it appears its going to take longer than i thought,by the time it hits markets it would be an old featured phone and nothing will really be cool or new, wait and see youre self.
REMEMBER!comaper the X1 with E90 and AGAIN!,REMEMBER that the E90 got to markets A YEAR AGO before this X1 even appeared to us,no really useful and big drawbacks will be found in the E90 but NOKIA is always the winner, prove is!coming up with the E90 a year before this X1.wait for the next new up coming phones after the N96 with 16GB hits the markets in JULY.then you will see that NOKIA is working on a further step than what you think.
FACT:NOKIA IS # 1 IN THE WORLD.not my saying not even you'res, but its a known fact.
Just happens that I know a lot about HTC and I see HTC written all over this device. Yes, of course SE want to take all the credit for the design, reality is different though. Have you ever wondered why this device has a camera with HTC uses for quite some time in other hi-end devices, yet SE claim to have 'developed the handset' ? Furthermore, just about all the 'innards' are HTC too - you name it and go check on the net and see for your self.No need to believe me. And why don't you ask SE how much they did pay for the WindowsMobile licence? You won't find any reference on the net because SE don't even have a WM licence ! How naive do you think the world is to believe SE when they trumpet - WE HAVE DEVELOPED XPERIA - if they don't even have a licence for the OS ! ! ! No matter who says what. If this device will sell well, HTC will make a killing. Yes HTC sells them to SE and they aren't cheap ! Icidentally the only part SE really played in Xperia is not working propery (I am refering to the 'pannels user interface'). Shortly you will be able to buy a 'non SE branded' Xperia (under a other name though) without the stupid 'pannels'. HTC Rules :-)
so far i know sony erricson cant build a decent cameraphone
and i also know they cant build a music phone without making you wear an adapter.
so clearly they didnt make this by themselves.
On Sony Getting Into the Windows Mobile Game
A couple of details that I learned from talking to various people at the Sony Ericsson booth that might be of interest:
They took care to emphasize that HTC didn't have a large hand in developing the hardware. “We designed it, HTC is just the ODM” was a phrase I heard twice. SE is (rightfully) very proud of this hardware and though they're utilizing HTC to do the manufacturing, they really want to make sure that they get the credit.
As for using HTC to manufacture it, my personal opinion is still mixed. HTC is very good at making great hardware and clearly has much more experience at this sort of thing than Sony Ericsson. Likely that's why SE made the decision to go with them. It's still surprising to me, however, as SE makes all sorts of phones and consumer devices and thus they likely had a lot of options. If nothing else, I see it as a testament to HTC's incredibly ability to crank out Windows Mobile devices as a manufacturer that they could beat out the other ODMs that Sony uses for their other products.
The other interesting bit is that SE developed the X1 as a “North American Device.” Most of the design and development work was done in San Diego and has a “North American mindset.” If there was any doubt that Sony Ericsson is aiming this device primarily at the US market, that doubt can now be laid to rest. SE has traditionally done much better in the Asian and European markets with their high-end phones, the Xperia X1 is clearly intended to reverse that trend.
