Honestly speaking, the top allrounder, multifunctional phone is Nokia's N82. This is what the convergence revolution wanted. A device that does a little bit of everything well. There is no WM device that can compete with the N82 simply because the majority of people prefer one handed use coupled to a user friendly OS such as Nokia's Symbian. The QWERTY, although I personally like it, will win SE X1 more enemies than friends. Talk of SE dethroning Nokia with SE X1 is simply ridiculous. SE X1 is basically for the business user and even then many would rather have a Blackberry because of the ease of use.
The SE X1 pretends to be an allrounder but alas many of its features Nokia implemented two years ago!! Eg 3.2MP photography and VGA camcording. To show how far Nokia have delved into convergence, just witness the N82's stunning Xenon flash. The best in the phone market. SE X1 has no answer.
In summary SE X1 will make a few ripples in the business market but in terms of general world sales, phones such as the N82 will be well ahead.

Maybe you are right that this is not iPhone killer in terms of User Interface as I am also currently using an 8gb iPhone, but features-wise X1 is much, much better than iPhone. I keep my iPhone only for being iPod at the same time and using as a video player because of its 3.5" screen.

This isn't an iphone killer. iphone interface is far superior to w6.1. Shame though as the rest of the phone is really cool. Definately worth looking at, as usual good battery life from SE

SE is always on top of all mobile phone makers. SE has set another trend with the XPERIA X1 Windows Mobile for smart people. The 800x480 pixel (WVGA) makes X1 cystal clear screen coupled with 9-panel as your Today's Screen, so exciting to have this X1 to explore a new dimension on mobile phone. SE is really the best!

Definitely, X1 is far, far better than Nokia E90. E90 really is too big a "real brick" in the real sense of the word. X1 is so light compare to other model with QWERTY keyboard Windows Mobile. E90 is not even a touchscreen. X1 is surely a big hit for SE and I'am happy if X1 is available around May or June so I could buy it immediately.

Funny that Nokia fanboys compared this phone with N95, Like comparing apple to a fish. Certainly there's no argument here if people compare this phone with HTC, Palm, Blackberry Nokia E90 or even a Nokia E61i seemed to be more logical comparison.

Even went as far as bragging N95 is much better than SE W580i....I mean come on?! Are you serious?!

There is an information about color. Here there are, if we are talking about depth or sharpness of color so it is not talking about how many color on the phone screen can produce (16M, 256 or 65K ect) but we are talking about intensity level of color which has relation with resolution screen and energy supply component. For 16M color, you must know, that amount is very big, each color on it has smooth difference so your eyes can’t reach and see them surely. Amount of color is just talk about variation of color and not at all of the color can be used fully because not at all of object what we see on the screen need or has color as much as 16M color variation. So, there is wasted color. In other word, if someone tell u about how bright, deep and sharp the color of object on the screen so it’s resolution screen strength and not amount of color. Even if the phone has 65k color with high resolution like WVGA (800 x 480) on 3 inches screen, iam surely the color is sharper and deeper rather than 16M on Qvga (320x240). What is the point of 16M color if it is compared with resolution strength ? look at WVGA resolution device, the device can make the others expensive devices like VGA video and high megapixels device can be enjoyed at real quality and better, it is usefull device rather than 16M color that can make the phone to be expensive but less of purpose. With WM 6.1, WVGA high resolution screen quality, higher processor at 528 MHz, longer battery life by 1500 LI-POLYMER ( NOT LI-ION) ect are more than enough to cover X1 65k color device.

Yes!! Iam very happy to buy X1 because I can enjoy my VGA video and megapixel picture better. Imagine! WVGA will increase VGA resolution ability of video as much as 76800pxl ( 307200 to 384000) , not like VGA to QVGA, so QVGA screen will decrease VGA resolution ability of video as much as 230400 pxl!!(307200 to 76800) and by WVGA resolution, the screen can show more pixel of megapixels (MPs) camera picture as much as the screen ability so it’s 5 times higher than MPs camera picture on Qvga ability.

Hey!! Why many people just thinking about higher device quality without watch the purpose it self, If I bought a phone because the phone has VGA resolution video device but the phone screen ability only has QVGA resolution, can I enjoy that VGA resolution of video at real quality on the phone screen ? NO!! even the phone look like a phone doesn’t has VGA video. In other word, don’t be proud first if your phone just has QVGA resolution because actually the phone is nothing that make multimedia quality is decreased. I always repeat this topic because resolution is very important which can influence the others expensive device purpose but no one realize it.

To:KIM
Well and good if XPERIA will be available next month in UAE as I am a fanatic user of SE as well as Windows Mobile. Once available in UAE, sometimes few units are also available in KSA. Yes, US$1,200+ price is too much but we will just wait for few months to drop the price.

Anyone who believes Windows Mobile is not about to burst into life is very sadly mistaken. How often do we here Symbian for multimedia,WM for buisness?WM is the future and has the capabilities to bridge both sectors. NVIDIA is specifically targeting Windows Mobile with the NVIDIA APX 2500 chip.Symbian Run for cover with your pathetic OS.Xperia is just the start

You are the joke, we have so many whiners on this site complaining about this or that. People, you do not have to buy this phone. If you don’t like it then go somewhere else. By the way, there is a camera on the front, and they working on the software just like everybody else does, but announced the phone early to get other developers a chance to work on applications for the new panels. I don’t want a 5mp camera. Takes to much battery and I will never make larger than 8 x 10 print anyway. I am just getting sick of all of these people. Why don’t you guys go over to blackberry and complain about there corporate e-mail features.
