xperia x1 have a 528 MHz processor.
this type of processor take a lot of power,
that mean's his battery going down shortly.
only display's pixle&clarity not made a perfect phone.

How amusing! The screen is one of the MAJOR reasons why this device beats other WM pocket pc's.Most mobile phones have QVGA resolution whereas the Xperia has WVGA.The X1 display can show FIVE times more detail/clarity than a p1,p990,n95,n96 etc.

how many of you guys complaining about the 65K colour display really saw 65K color on a (3" WVGA 800*480) ????

X1 pixels per cm^2= 15976
N96 pixels per cm^2= 3265

if you know anything about LCDs and from the calculations above you cant say anything about the X1 display being inferior and out-dated

the Superiorness of that X1 display is proved technically!!

and to you guys that are shouting the 16M color displays in Nokia....: that was the only way for nokia to put up their displays against the SUPERIOR 262K color ones from SE.

-i am not a fanboy... but the SE's 262K displays are perfect in terms of vivid colors and proper contrast.

you will be suprised about how X1 LCD EATs other brand ones....

but that was all about the display... as i think that the X1 could have been better speced. but still a great phone.

and BTW... the release date is officially announced to be about the end of the Q3 2008

This 'phone' will only come next year - with last year's specs. Lets be honest with each other. I like SE, but this is pathetic. Oh my God the camera is only, what 3mp or so. I bet - more viruses will be out there then devices sold - even by the end of next year :) :) :) Let's not forget, Nokia is working on a 3in, S60 touch screen version with wimax and a 7.2mp AF-video 3xoptical zoom . Who the hell whats to buy this WM clone? SE look more and more desperate to bringing out a half decent device to the market after the P990/P1 fiasco. The 'XPERIA' may hint of 'HOPE,' but Alas, the are going the wrong way COMPLETELY .

Whahaha!! I never knew that you people used to have a clown here!. Well, Nokia N96 is still not even released yet! And how on Earth can you say that N96 got bad GPS?. And about those people asking why the Xperia got only 65k colors, well it's just too simple. Windows Mobile OS only supports 65k colors. And consequently, the Xperia only supports 65k color screen too..

Nokia's internet tablet or N800 (or whatever...) may have WiMax, but you can't use it as a phone...
Spec for Spec, the xperia is almost like the HTC TyTn II, albeit w/ a bigger screen & better features. It may only be 65k, but tell me how many of you can differentiate between 65k, 262k & 16m colors?

Think before you post pls... Don't be a stupid poster.

Sorry, guys, I did not like it, it seems to be a funny phone not a Smart phone (for business people) where is the external keypad for easy dialing and searching for names or sms, in this case you have to open the slide and do every thing with the QWTRY keypad, personally i didnot like it, I am very happy with my E90.

it makes me remember i-phone it is only multimedia phone....

In my openion, any business phone MUST have both kepads (External and Internal Qwetry)

regards,
Nasser

To the post before me:
Tha you didn't turned on the assisted GPS, Xperia won't have any better receiver, because thay curently aren't available to built in so small devices. Garmin XP is the best program for N96, N95, E90, lock on satelites below 5 sec.

I am still buying XPERIA, cause everything else is much! better than on phones till day, only HTC TyNn 2 comes close.

I was using N96 yesterday and the GPS receiver in the phone is pathetic. it took it nearly 2 minutes to sense signals from sat, and then it said that the signals are weak. With the handset cluttered with a lot of buttons I am not going to buy it at all!!

maverick

@ Giordan:

This was built by HTC, and it has better hardware than the HTC Touch Cruise. All Chips on both phones are produced by Qualcomm. I suggest you visit this website before you start comparing phones in the way you did, and make a complete idiot of yourself.

http://www.pdadb.net/index.php

The only advantage Eten phones have over this piece of art is the SirfStar III GPS chipset, which is more sensitive than Qualcomm’s chipsets in general. But X1 is using a better chipset than the one in the Touch Cruise. Once they release the entire datasheet of the X1, you will be able to compare it yourself. In my opinion, the only phone that can be compared to X1, from hardware perspective, is the HP iPAQ 610/612/614c Business Navigator. But the Navigator is bigger in size, comes with nothing similar to the GUI of X1, and has a less attractive design as well as a screen that has a lower resolution.

The iPhone is a “beautiful” phone. Some of us just don’t need that; we prefer productivity to looks. The only feature that the iPhone offers is the Safari browser, which is way better than the current IE mobile. Its GUI is user-friendly and all, but you just can’t buy a phone so obsolete just because it looks good! As for Nokia’s WiMax internet tablet, it’s a completely different product, relying on a completely different technology that is only available on a very narrow scale worldwide. What would it be useful for, at least nowadays, to carry a phone that works only in limited areas? Again phones are phones! Their primary purpose is making outgoing calls. If you need a computer, laptops are getting smaller, and you also have the UMPC’s.

One last thing: Symbian is something; Windows Mobile is something else, Period!

Why such a low spec device from SE? I thought they are more into the hi-end market. Disappointing to say the least. Isn't this the company which was supposed to chalange Nokia for the TOP position? Now it looks like they are chalenging Alcatel for the botom end :) How on earth will this brick compete with HTC, Eten, Qtek, not to mention iPhone and Nokia's mighty internet tablet (WIMAX !)
