Nokia recently bought Trolltech, this suggests Symbian won't be the preferred OS in years to come.I doubt Symbian OS could be developed enough to be useful in tomorrow's super high tech devices.

What i am certain fo is that symbian will stay as phone centric, while abaut windows mobile i am no so sure, did you hear abaut Google Android? It is linux based and made to work on same hardware as windows mobile devices. I am planning to try Android on my Xperia X1 when thex port it. And than i will decide, it is nice to have windows mobile as well as andriod based on same hardware as you can change whenever you want :P

I think this is the first step from SE to take nokia crown, because as we knows that SONY has a much bigger resources and bugget than others. Please rember when sony launch playstation, they beat all their main rival. And this war not only between SE and Nokia,Microsoft and Symbian also fight each other.I believe in next 5 years SE Will beat Nokia. And Microsoft will kick Symbian out...INSYA AllAH...

kUZx let's be serious, if you are interested in photography then buy a camera not a cell phone.

XPERIA is a business phone and 3MPX camera is the best choice for a lower price. However I haven't saw a device with WM on it and with a camera resolution bigger than 3MPX.

I too have an interest in photography, please understand It's not just the resolution of the sensor that determines the final image quality look at the optics, the colour management, the technology in the image-processing engines.Camera/phones image sensors haven't got significantly larger from one generation to the next,so squeezing more megapixels out of a sensor means each pixel on the sensor is smaller. In most of the chip business, smaller electronics is the name of the game but with cameras, they translate to less light per pixel. That light difference means it's harder to distinguish the signals produced by light from the electronic noise in the sensor. The idea of making the signal-to-noise ratio worse may sound pretty technical, but possible consequences are easily understood-Images suffer from colour speckles, and cameras work poorly in dimmer conditions such as indoors. If you try to cram more pixels into the same amount of space, you get signal degradation because you're not getting as much light into the same pixel.Sony Ericcson's 3.2MP camera will be more than a match for Nokia's 5MP.

When P990 first came out it was like 900 or above. I hope the price of this will fall like P990.

why would it have 16M Display?

that would seriously drain the battery really quickly

even though SE has the best battery life!

but still the display on this Xerphia is 3 inches! im sure if it had 16M the battery would drain fast......

Yes, I have been posting that same link to explain that 65k colors is good enough. 18bit screen looks great on the spec sheet, but it is really not necessary.

To the poster below me, the phone runs Windows Mobile 6.1, meaning it will come with Office mobile 6.1 which is capable of reading and writing all office formats, including 2007 format.

to those people saying ONLY 65K color screen, first off, its much more battery and hardware friendly, http://blogs.msdn.com/windowsmobile/archive/2005/09/07/462187.aspx

3.2MP camera is sufficient enough, the higher number of pixels your, the higher the resolution (or sharpness) of your images---and the larger your prints can be without quality loss.

this phone has photoflash, when compared to xenon, it uses less battery and supposedly brighter, but with current tests, its roughly equal

There are many new models keeps coming from all the popular brands. Look at the wider perspective and pay only that is necessary. Not wise to pay for premium price as new technology changes too fast. Many other brands offers very good phone at much prices. Hi guys think carefully; is it worth paying so much?

I'm not paying $900 for phone with only 65K color screen normal camera 3.2MP with no xenon flash and no TV out!!!

I could buy a laptop for less than that! But i have to say, this is the first SE phone that is almost all-in-one, not bad SE but not enough to be on TOP!
