i too believe that 64K is enougs, no real differences, just the spects look better if it shows 16M. So as far as i have concluded is that this phone indeed has GPS module, just the naming is silly, because usualy there is GPS module, with software that support A-GPS, well in case of X1 the A-GPS funciton in integrated on the chip itself, so no wirries, only screen could be bigger, like on my Nokia E90.
about the 65k screen, i think its sumtin to do wid the actual os, wont c much difference with the naked eye anyway, have a look at the htc touch review from gsm arena and that will explain why this phone has a 65k screen and why it doesnt realy matter.
Does not matter if its made by se or nokia.I like this phone.
I would like to buy it but my only concern is the 528 mhz processor, will it be enough for winmo 6.Had 5 winmo devices from O2 and HTC,all of them had 400+ mhz processors but damn they were slow as hell.
And about the 65k screen well wtf its a business class device and you dont need any more than that, its clearly not a multimedia centric device.
Love my current N82 and E90,i will buy this one and the N96 for sure.
This is wonderful phone from Sony Ericsson I would like to have one ( once I'm done saving the money).
It should naturally play real media and wma files since it runs on windows mobile.well I hope so.
Download DivX Mobile Player
Version 0.89 (12-Sep-2007)
Windows Mobile 2003:
Windows Mobile 2003 SE
Windows Mobile 5.0 (Smartphone & PocketPC)
Windows Mobile 6 (Standard, Classic & Professional)
Guys, about 65K:
Win Mobile only supports: 16 bit/pixel (65536 colors).
It's true & it's terrible.
I hope Win Mobile 7 support 16M display color.
i have a doubt why this sony ericsson mobile has 65k colour while other gud sony ericsson phones are having 262k colors pls reply
Win Mobile doesn't support more than 65K?
So, why the O2 XDA Flame monitor is 262K?
if you read again you will see that it has an A GPS function aswell as GPS, so if you do not have proper sat recep you may use that as an alter
Oh my we have some right imbeciles in the house. The Xperia X1 has a built in GPS module. This device is for power users and is not a regular smartphone(n81,95 etc)
If the W930i is a true phone, I defenitely get one even the price is high. With that specs, it's all in one phone lol......
this is what i think se is going to do.
the phone will have the gpsOne because it is coming on the msm7200a chip, but it will not be enabled. this does two things, it keeps cost down and save battery (mabe). then what they are going to do is promote there hge-100 gps stereo headset to be used with the phone to get your gps. i was just checking it out and it looks pretty cool. i was looking at some of se "white paper" at there development site and saw some of the cyber-shots being able to have gps by using this device. i would like some input on this. does that sound right?
I have a question
Does someone know a site where ya can view all tha pictures of tha X1i
I am posting this response to Sina™'s opinion about A-GPS function, where he was saying:
"Haha. Guys, X1 doesn't support GPS: A-GPS != GPS. Devices with only A-GPS has no radio link with satellites. They use navigation information provided by GSM or CDMA base stations (which have GPS modules) to determine your location. A-GP...". Dude you are a lame, so, please go to this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assisted_GPS
A-GPS is a improved GPS system.
yo se lovers this is your day.go to this site and chek it out .
