I hope SE would release it not more than a year, they keep on announcing good phones but it would take like forever to get it

I dont like slider phone. Use it for a year than you have to replace it. I prefer nokia 6220 classic. Its candybar more solid and more feature. The most important is the os more friendly Symbian 9.2.

Yes I've read that Xperia X1 will use windows Mobile 6.5,seemingly it's quite a big overhaul all leading upto WM7 in 2009

I'm getting tired of coming here to read about SE and getting inundated with Nokia pap.Gsmarena can't you censor the word nokia from SE section and do the same with SE in the nokia board anyway I prefer WM and I like SE so for me this phone kicks ass.

It's rumoured the device will have the Qualcomm 520mhz CPU with fully supported drivers*WoW* WM6.5 should run flawlessly. For the person who enquired about RD-WM Professional(touchscreen) is PERFECT for using remote desktop.Until full specs are released it's pure speculation but fair minded people agree this is exciting times for SE and WM.Nokia make brilliant handsets but with the embedded Symbian OS your always blatantly aware that it's no computer..not even a mini computer.

                      Hi pipl,

the desing of the mobile device is just great,it has everything that a good PDA needs,Qwerty slide keyboard, WM OS, touchscreen, and don't forget,it is a bussines device, and believe me,it works running your bussines over it,while not in office.

I have a Qtek 9100,and before that, i was having the Nokia E65,and Symbian just can't beat WM!So,it was time, that SE made a phone with it.

in fact, who needs a 5MP camera,I don't.If a wanna take good pics,a just take my camera with me.And 3.15MP is far enough.

Good job SE,I hope that nokia will putt WM in the next generation of the E-series,maybe in N too.

                          This X1 phone is great.
I hope the flash strong enough to provide light in dark place. 3M is enough for me.
1 thing missing is TV out. I like when I was at home video calling using big TV screen in living room. But hey, OS is WM. May be there will be third party software that can remote WM from my PC using big monitor. (In that case I have to buy multimedia PC).
Outside of that this is the best MOBILE thing... Does it support High Capacity Card??

there is still a lot of people arguing that it is not microSD, and no GSM Arena is not the only on that says it is. its on many other sites and it is also listed in SONY ERICSSON's website as well

If you want to sell millions of high end Nokia\'s you flash the words 5MP camera,16million colors,Symbian such a contrast to SE who know the functionality of the OS,camera, screen, software is what attracts Higher end users.

You like repeating yourself? Don't you?

Good phone in general but important features missing:

                                    -Xenon flash

-More screen color (only 65K, the K800 has 256K)

The next version of this phone will be the best!

(I had a few typos and wanted to fix them and add a few things more...)

This phone is truly the best. It has great functionality and a stainless-steel design with a glass touchscreen and optical navigation pad. It also as Windows Mobile 6.5, which will be far better than Symbian.

Nokia fans are jealous of this phone and that it beats the Nseries handsdown. I know...you guys will start talking about the n95's 5MP camera and 16 million QVGA screen. Well guess what!? 3MP is efficient for a phone, and the picture quality is far more important than the megapixels. Sony is known for its excellent picture quality, like the K800.

Now, in terms of the screen-same thing. The colors are not as important as the resolution. Although this phone has 65K colors, it will not be noticable at all, considering that this phone has a VGA resolution screen.

The Nseries is worthless. All the phones are plastic and flimsy. There is not one Nseries phone that has a touchscreen, stainless steel design, slide out keyboard or VGA screen. I am not saying that all of the Nseries phones have bad features. There design could just be better, considering the fact that the Nseries are Nokia's flagship phones.

For example, the n95 has a pathetic 330Mhz processor. The Xperia has a 520 Mhz. processor-maybe even more.

People are also complaining about the interface. First of all, Windows Mobile 6.5 has not been released yet. So people should seriously stop saying that it is terrible, just because Windows Mobile 6.1 was. I have heard that WM 6.5 will come with many improvements. So, don't judge the interface when it hasn't even been released and you haven't even tried it.

Also, wait for WM 7 to come out in 2009. I am sure that SE will offer a firmware/upgrade, knowing SE for its excellent customer service. SE won the best customer satisfaction award in 2007!

This phone is very innovative. SE has somewhat altered the Windows Mobile interface to make it much better. The tabs are very cool.

Also, this is the first SE phone to sport a built-in 3.5 MM headphone jack, which is simply amazing, considering the excellent quality of music offered by SE phones. The phones without this feature and with adapters have much worse music quality.

This phone is designed for business, entertainment, and everything else you would want in a perfect phone.

This phone will come out late September, early October of this year.

                                        Xperia is simply the best!
