SE has released at least seven new phones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and only ONE of them is worth talking about. This does not bode well for SE!
It is clear that SE cannot compete with Nokia when it comes to multimedia. One has only to look at the underpowered camera which lacks Xenon flash to realise that this offering is not top dollar. Some of you are rejoicing over camcording at VGA,30fps yet Nokia have been doing it for years! Whether or not SE's camcording will be standard especially during fast moving scenes will have to be tested.
I hope this new offering will run smoothly and reliably. I also hope that SE can release it BEFORE 6 months otherwise Nokia and others will beat them to the punch!

Well it looks good, just like zinc or tytn, even the OS is the same. Let's see if wm6 can really do the work in this device. I know wm6 has more apps library and easily hackable, but not that fun. I hope this one is faster and more stable. What a surprise, sony ericsson! -- ponselinsider

The only problem with SE is its high price. I would imagine this model will cost not less than US$1,000 which is too much. If the price is between US$600 to US$700 I would say price is cool enough.

When XPERIA X1 is released, then apples going down the drain!
by the way, the XPERIA X1 shouldn't be called the iphone killer, it should be called the nokia n95-2 killer.

                why is XPERIA X1 better

                1.it has qwerty keyboard
2.it has 2x resolution as iphone on only a 3"
                3.it has a decent camera
4.it has buttons so you don't need to put up with touchscreen
5.you can actually hear people when you call them! unlike the iphone.
                6. the XPERA X1 is only a concept, and works just fine at the moment, apart from the graphics hardware. by mid 2008 many people would agree that when it is released, it will be much better than what we have been waiting for.
                7.it's got 3g!
8.a 3.5mm jack which works with ALL headphones, unlike iphone where it only works with ipod headphones (which by the way, many people would agree that they are bad quality anyway)

                      the screen is near stellar...
65k color is not different from 262k on such a vast resolution....
you will never notice the color banding on such pixel density.... never...

                      SE is back on course!!!

The best phone by Sony Ericsson yet. Guys understand that Windows Mobile only supports 65k color even thoug the handset features 16 million. So SE has made a smart move and it is the BEST phone.
Wish it had 5px camera & 8 GB then it would have been the BEST PHONE MADE ON PLANET EARTH MADE YET.

Are you sure that screen is only 65K color, all SE phones have 264K colors? It is not SE policy to put something abandoned long time ago on top model, unless it has problem with battery????

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional smartphone.
Sony Ericsson promised that this will be fixed with the release device, especially because the 520 MHz Qualcomm CPU should be powerful enough and Sony Ericsson also told me they will take benefit from the graphics hardware acceleration as available for Qualcomm chips.

But it wasn't clear this phone's RAM and ROM sizes. I wonder 3.5" mm head phone jack or SE's all in one crap!

Why do people keep saying this phone takes MicroSD? Because gsmarena.com says so? When has SE ever used SD as opposed to MS?

On SE website it clearly says the phone takes Memory Stick SanDisk Micro, which is M2 and not MicroSD. Go look for yourself.

The day Sony uses SD is the day hell freezes over.

Wow! I have been waiting for this a long time. Finally, Sony Ericsson is going to use Windows Mobile. This will be the best phone we ever have at the moment. I especially like WM powered smart phones due to my heavy usage of emails, calender and other software. I have HTC P3600 and I love it but I hate the camera and head phone jack. I will definately buy it. I trust SE to produce a good quality WM phones. FM Radio is a plus and VGA resolution as well, hu hu. With HTC something is always missing. Can't wait to see it out.

HTC and SE made Microsoft look cool. Who would've thought up that collaboration? Nokia and Google's Android, anyone? BTW, HTC is Taiwanese, not Chinese. Dont hate them for their video driver debacle. Every company has a dark hour. Even Apple and Sony have been sued before and lost.

Nokia n Samsung fanboys are getting jealous. I luv my current S60 phone, but even i know Symbian is not perfect. Ive had it hang and restart at least 5x during the last month. N96 is nothing new. G810 could take the same mediocre pix like G800 just with Xenon. Experience Xperia. Could have the best web browsing without the annoying pinch and zoom bulls--t. Xperia might the next great phone series that even surpasses Nokia's E & N series. Even a 3G iPhone may not defeat this. Came out of left field and surprised everyone.
