I think SE have bigger plans for the future than needing to bolster sales and notoriety by building a phone for Google.
It seems that their current financial situation has been a real wake up call to SE, and the results can be seen by the attention to detail going in to the X10.
Sure it's going to be a little late, but all the time has been put into perfecting the UI. I guess the fact that the development of this new and unique UI is complete will mean that SE will be able to release new hardware much more quickly. The X10 is just the start for SE.
In my opinion, SE is the only ones who have really innovated as far as the UI is concerned. Everyone else seems to be trying to copy the iphone. I like HTC Sense, and have it on my current phone but I'm ready for something new.
I don't know about the rest of you but the current builds of the X10 UI are better than I could ever have imagined. Such a beautiful, and useable UI with what seems to be no lag. I think SE now probably have more knowlege of how to get the most out of Android and Snapdragon than any other manufacturer. They have taken a beating for the issues of some of their recent phones but have come back with a vengence. Thank goodness.
I'm definately getting an X10, and I can't wait to see what SE will have when its time to upgrade from there.
dont get me wrong, im not an apple fanboy, i dont like iphone, this X10 is miles away compare to iphone... heck i choose my old W610i over iphone.
SE 2010, 19 Feb 2010Guys have you heard the latest news? The nexus one was supposed to be made by SE! But when goo... moresadly it worked best for google, if SE accepted the offer, then until now N1 is still a concept phone. on the other side, maybe the reasoned that SE refused to accept the offer is that they can't even finished their flagship phone why else they have to accept another company's offer to make phone.
at the rate SE released their phone, many consumer are getting impatient and become sour and will decide to choose another phone. especially for those people with phone contract that need to be renewed.
and i doubt that people will respond to this phone as they did to iphone. if i'm wrong and if people will really camp out just to get hold of this phone, i will be the first one to admit that i'm wrong about SE.
yigi liu, 19 Feb 2010I think it's going to cost a FORTUNEAgree with yigi liu...
You should read the opinion of one of the most experts in the mobile industry, said about the new coming Xperia X10 from SE :
So, there you have it and I’ll admit, having just re-read the above myself, this reads as if I think that the Xperia X10 is a masterstroke of handset design. Ultimately, however, this is exactly what I think and I see no justifiable reason as to why I should pretend otherwise.
Had the X10 have left me feeling cold, I would have told you. But it didn’t. What it did do is serve to reaffirm that, as mentioned above, Sony Ericsson have woken up, smelt the coffee and have obviously decided its time to reaffirm themselves in the handset market. And the X10 will indeed do just that, and it’ll do it with aplomb.
The Xperia X10 is a revelation. It not only looks great, but it runs like a dream and the thought SE have put into this handset – its design, its features, its usability – positively shines through. The X10 is sheer brilliance, pure and simple.
Or, if you really want me to put myself on the line here, I’ll put it another way. Alex (our Sub) asked me, on my return from the SE press event, whether I’d actually consider replacing my beloved iPhone 3GS with an X10 and I could only offer him a single word answer.

infact, it is a great phone and with a beautiful shape, but the question is when it will be available in lebanon or tn the world, hope to have the answer very soon.
SE 2010, 19 Feb 2010Guys have you heard the latest news? The nexus one was supposed to be made by SE! But when goo... moreGood thing that they did refuse... or else Google nexus
Still not release this time and got delayed..
The only thing that makes SE refuse is their Ego..
Guys have you heard the latest news? The nexus one was supposed to be made by SE! But when google asked SE to make it for them, SE turned them down!
The important thing here, is that google is a very huge and well known company, so choosing SE as their first choice, clearly shows us how amazing SE really are, and how they are well known for their good quality and nice features.
So this is a big slap in the face, for all these people who try to make SE looks bad. In fact, its still one of the best, otherwise google would never make them their #1 choice you know.

Anonymous, 19 Feb 2010Nah... This phone is still the best! The user interface is by far the BEST ever! The user expe... moreFor me, base of what ive seen on youtube video review...
I like the x10's interface... but comparing it to nexus one's live wallpapers and amoled display.. nah... i would choose N-1
And now that the HTC desire have been announce...
with 16m colors and HTC sense..
And by the way. 4 inch screen is too big for me
3.7 is just perfect
And i dont have problem with that sunlight legibility...
I dont use my phone Outdoors
no hesitation i would choose Desire..
What i want in a phone to be..
1. stunning display
2. full connectivity
3. with divx player
4. full flash support
I dont care if the x-10's camera is better or have more megapixels...
i dont usually use my phone as my personal camera..
I have digital camera who have all the camera feature i need...
And i am very much satisfied with the 5mp camera of the desire
as long as the picture looks good through my phones screen...
Spawner, 19 Feb 2010For me nexus one is better than... much more the newly announce HTC Desire.. Android 2.1... moreI am one person considering a change to the Desire as this phone is taking so long to be released. SE are going to lose alot of customers because of the delay, in my opinion.
Very good review of X10. SE have really made sure the retail units will run super smooth and fast:
Spawner, 19 Feb 2010For me nexus one is better than... much more the newly announce HTC Desire.. Android 2.1... moreNah... This phone is still the best! The user interface is by far the BEST ever! The user experience with this phone is just completely AWESOME! Plus that htc still has that basic 5mp camera with no smile and face detection or other cool features. And its gonna be a total nightmare in sunlight with that amoled that's gonna break in just a few months. Nothing can still compare to this phone! 1st of all, just look at the design! It's an automatic winner! And it also has a larger screen. And best of all is the 8MP camera with cyber-shot features! And the user interface is totally awesome and has the best user experience ever! Sorry but no one can really beat this phone.
The xperia is like a beautiful lady, whereas the HTC Desire is like a mans appendage. I don't care how many features a mans appendage has, I'm not holding one against my head.
You on the other hand, might have a different opinion.
For me nexus one is better than...
much more the newly announce HTC Desire..
HTC sence. (clap)
Amoled Display, with 16 million Colors
Full Flash Support (we could Play facebook apps with this) (clap)
divx player (clap)
Multi touch screen
1gb snapdragon with 576 ram (clap)
AND MANY MORE....
SE could have sell this phone more if they did release this phone early...
Now i bet many users whos waiting for x10 will switch to HTC desire.. except for those die hard fans hehehe..
dissapoint101, 19 Feb 2010ok, i also got your point, i apologize :-) anyway, like you, im looking forward with this phon... moreNo problem :). Let's just try to be optimistic about this device my friend. I have the feeling that SE are really putting a lot of effort in it. The more I watch videos the more the device gets faster and smoother.
Have a good day :>
Anonymous, 18 Feb 2010I like X10 very much but I do not understand why there is no secondary camera for video call? ... morefor me secondary camera is just a gimmick, i dont know if in ur place many people uses it but here in my country, ppl usually dont use it, and yes it makes the battery drains much faster...
