It doesn't drain your battery but will save your battery & your credits instead.:) It's a symbol to let you know that data traffic has been disabled. Then on the same page, under Network Mode, choose GSM only. By doing these, your phone won't be able to access the internet without your knowledge thru GPRS but only thru wi-fi (if wi-fi was turned on) thus saving you unwanted data charges and battery drain.
Hye guys i tried to upgrade my X10 to 2.3 gingerbread
but it seem to work slow and not working properly....
Do any of you guys have upgraded to 2.3 ginger bread.....??????Any of you guys f idea on this?????
Hussein Berjawi, 11 Jul 2011Can't wait untill 2.3 (Gingerbread) update ! when is it comming?Upgrade 2.3 is coming on november 14 from SE.....
The "H" at the top means that your internet is connected and does drain battery life, to turn it off go to settings-->Wireless&Networks-->Mobile Network-->Disable data traffic. Disabling it will save battery and can be turned on whenever it is necessary.
another thing is there is monitor-like with red x mark on the left side of the notification bar, is it normal? will it not drain my battery?

That H sign means HSDPA i.e., 3G network. Either turn off 3G or Download APN On-Off Widget to turn GPRS Off.
