Ravz, 31 Jul 201016M is not 32 bit lol :)
Now seriously 65K colors means that the color of each pixel on you... moreHI Ravz
you wrote :
the Red Green and Blue values of the color can go from 0 to 255) that is said to be the maximum that the human eye can discern
this is wrong
This is totally wrong!!!!!
0-255 means 256 combination
each color is represented by 8 bit which has 256 combination for single colors, it does not have anything do with the HUMAN EYE LIMIT!!!
so all together 3 RGB channels 256*256*256 = 16777216 colors can be made by a pixel (16 Million)
please read it on Wikipedia or any other article
I made a mistake
1-bit color (2 colors)
2-bit color (4 colors)
4-bit color (16 colors)
8-bit color (256 colors)
16-bit color (65535 colors)
24-bit color (16.7 Million colors)
32bit color (4.2 Billion colors expected)
human can seeh anywhere close to the 18.4 quintillion colors (the latest I found)
Most "32-bit" displays do not display 4.2 billion colors, like you would expect. Instead, they display 24-bit color and use the remaining 8 bits to signal alpha transparency or Z-buffer data. Most 64-bit computers still use 24-bit or 32-bit color. Since the human eye cannot distinguish anywhere close to the 18.4 quintillion colors a 64-bit display would provide, a 64-bit display is unlikely to ever be used

anyway there is a huge difference between 65K and 16M colors
Just switch it in your PC and see a good image taken with 16M, when you watch videos it is clearly seen.
Same is on Mobile phone, but the probelm is you cannot switch color depth and see,
SO best way is to switch the phone and see
Since I have a x10 mini and a droid I can clearly see the differance!! x10 mini display is a little brighter
but it is poor in color separations.
I bought is as the it looks great, handy in hand. but not happy with the colors, waiting for an update.so it would fix.
a 65K display can show only 65K different colors
I wonder what is your point, what does 65K colors have do with sunlight, under any condition 16M is better.
anyway no need to carry this any more!! just one month to go, you'll get 16M. Hope u wont deny that? would you?
So all will be happy!!!!!

They cannot bear the thought of others having a buying this phone or maybe they can't afford it, so they hate it. Look at Apple iPhone, there's a lot of bashers too! It's not only SE and X10...
Phoenix, 31 Jul 2010Not for me ;)You want too a 16 Million screen smart phone? Than you have to wait a little bit my friend. I just can't understand some people. Why they want to bash this phone?? If somebody think that this phone is not good, then they why posts a lot of comments here?? Very strange lol! I kept the X10 in my hands, and it is awesome. It is responsive, I like the Mediascape app a lot. :) You bought already the phone?
i love this phone...
extremely wonderful experiance on internet.....
Droid x, 31 Jul 2010That good example. From your monitor set from 16 bit to 32bit everyboby knows about it 32 bit ... more16M is not 32 bit lol :)
Now seriously 65K colors means that the color of each pixel on your screen is defined by 16 bits, or 65535 different levels of colors (2^16=65535) or a 16bit color depth. 16M colors means your pixels have a 24 bit color depth (2^24=16777216, or each of the Red Green and Blue values of the color can go from 0 to 255) that is said to be the maximum that the human eye can discern.
So in conclusion, to me, the difference is more theoretical than practical, and I agree that having 65k colors on a mobile device is enough, especially because the usage conditions are different from a PC (i.e. direct sunlight and generally speaking on the go) especially when performances are important over eye candy.
hope that clears your mind...so the diff is between 16 bit and 24 bit which is really not much... :)
Ravz, 31 Jul 2010Yup on R2BA026 firmware ...but haven't got the time to really check for any major improvement.... moreit got some improvements, not major. timescape is the same, u will get an update of play now. also, there is a keyboard change, try it out!

P2KDroid, 31 Jul 2010Now you are saying that I gave a fake site.So you provide me a trusted source. I don't know... moreMaybe I am wrong, many people said that human eye can't see more than 65K colors. I googled it, but I didn't find anything good. Let's forget it, I don't really care if my phone has 65K colors, or more. If a phone ahs a BIG screen, than it needs more than 65K of colors. By the way I kept the X10 in my hands, and in my opinion is cool. I said that site could be fake, because it is a Nokia site, and they have many 16 Million colors screen phones.I don't have problems with Nokia or with Motorola, don't get me wrong. 4 me the X10 is a good phone, but it lacks a sound recorder. I want a phone with sound recorder, but you can download a sound recorder. It lacks MT too, but that is NOT the most important(at least 4 me). :) Example the Samsung Galaxy S lacks a LED flash. Maybe the phone is awesome, has a lot of features, but if lacks an LED flash, I don't need a phone. What I want to say is, there is NO perfect phone, and don't need to find what phone lacks something.

I... moreWhen I got the phone last Tuesday, the first thing I did was, change the firmware to the latest one, which was R2BA024. I did not check what was the original version on it, but it should be older, I supposed. But in the less than one hour, I was using the original charge which comes from the phone which is around 57%, I noticed it has lost about 10% in just 10 minutes. After I changed the firmware, it never go down more than 50% when I goes home in the evening. Once I'm home, there's no more problem because I'll connect it in my desktop, so it will get charge...

btw talking about SE making replica?
don't you think Samsung is making an iphone replica...can't they just get over the iphone n move forward im tired of all the iphone replica's...i like a phone which is diff, unique n amazing thats why i chose X10...
im not a sony fan boy...i like phones made by htc,Nokia till i got bored with them....Motorola is something I would not buy again coz of the poor service in my country..
Venkat, 31 Jul 2010I have a problem with the battery life. I had charged the Phone fully last night at 7.00 pm. I... moreThis is common to all Android phones irrespective of the brand/handset you have. Android OS will always have apps running in the background to make the OS run faster so as when you open an app, Android OS simply puts the app from background to foreground thus no delays...to kill this functionality and save your battery consumption...try updating it to the latest firmware R2BA026 by using SEUS...and install adv task killer too...and make sure u put the apps on auto kill when screen turns off else the app won't do much...also check your phone's app's are not on auto update ..like timescape, facebook, gmail, moxier mail....etc...if you're living in an area where cell phone reception is pretty low you will experience battery drain as well coz the phone will try to scan the network every now n then...anyway just let me know if this help for the starters...coz they are plenty of things you can do to save battery...also use the search option on the top ..battery has been discussed probably 1000 times by now..
P2KDroid, 31 Jul 2010Now you are saying that I gave a fake site.So you provide me a trusted source. This phone causes envy I notice. And I like nokia samsung htc so dont call me fan boy
