mohammed, 03 Apr 2010ur 100% correct...lotz of functions but not usefull for some ppls...Yup thats true. Thats why we have choices and we have to make them well. So to get a perfect phone is impossible but to get one that suits your needs and does it well is more important. cheers
Picture this, you're walking in a park with a drink in your hand and you start looking at pictures that was taken recently. Wanting to zoom in on MT screen you have to put the drink down coz you'd need two hands just to pinch and zoom. But on the X10 you just tap with one finger and you're zooming. So why do we need multi touch. Even for gaming isn't the laptop or desktop good enough. This to me is a business phone not really a hardcore gamer phone although it can handle good graphics. SO for people who complain about multi touch please guys you dont play metal gears or something like that on a blackberry. Be realistic. Just appreciate the phone for what it is and for SE to take such a big leap in a long time.
I was going to buy it for sure, but after that... I won't. SE really disappointed me. Using clearpad 1000 instead of 2000 just to save some dollars on a 800$ phone, what a shame. i9000 galaxy s, even if your 2 months from releasing.. I'm waiting.

Back in November, I posted that X10 will not support multi touch functionality at launch, but will be considered for the future. I can appreciate that even though there wasn´t a commitment, such wording both creates expectations (small or big) on future support and implies restrictions on software side.
That is the information I had in hand at that point of time. I am well aware that you rate multi touch functionality very high and therefore I regret to inform you that X10 screen hardware does not register simultaneous entries. Meaning even though we will upgrade the underlying operating system in relation to upgrading our user experience layer, X10 will not support multi touch functionality. We believe that it is important for you who follow this blog to be clear on that, which is the reason why I want to confirm Rikard’s comment.
We are working on alternative solutions for certain use cases, like zooming. I will share more details about that initiative once confirmed.
Due to vendor understanding and agreements, we don´t discuss in detail regarding hardware specifications. Having said that, X10 is upgradable and as earlier described there will be significant value offered through upgrades. X10 is about to reach stores and early consumer feedback is very positive, also highlighting room for improvement which we will share in due time.
i one of se fans and and i everytime buy se phones but
a high end phone without MT touch are u kidding me se
i am sorry for u
Guys I'm from the UK and I just got my hands on this baby, it ROCKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS BIG TIME!! I love it very fast and very smooth. The Media/time scape are just perfect! The camera is very good and the screen is vivid and rich with colors.
The only downside though is the external speakers, I thought they had a higher sound, but it's still good. I am really looking forward for the 2.1 Andriod upgrade. I overall score this device 8.5/10
Phoenix, 02 Apr 2010yeah me too:)This phone has a lot of great applications, the design is cool, the UI is cool too, the Ram is more than enough, if we compare it to the N97, or to the X6... :) The CPU speed too is awesome too, eg Nokia or Moto didn't have an 1GHZ CPU phone on the market.
I tried it , fast and smooth
costs 245 KWD in EUREKA
but only support English and japanese , no Arabic
I think it is the Japanese SO-01B
Failure........Touch isnt that great .speaker output very low......Calling screen appears blank while making a call......but yes it looks outrageous......camera average....
Nexus 1 the best android running phone as of now.....No beat
Anonymous, 02 Apr 2010Ok thats great thanks. Looks I'm getting the white one. HahahaGood for you:)
Faiz, 02 Apr 2010Confirmed: No multitouch for Xperia X10 Sony Ericsson sys: “It is correct that the X10 will ... moreAre you sure about this?? On my source is the opposite. By the way multitouch is NOT so important 4 me for example. I like this phone without it too. :)
There is no multi touch on X10 right now or sometime in the future after upgrading to the latest version, we forgot to install multi touch hardware into this phone.
Great phone for my usage. Big screen, 1Ghz processor fast and smooth, 8.1Mp camera, Bluetooth file transfer, good speaker sound, can open Office documents, sexy design, good battery life and most important of all good quality materials.
No flash and multi touch is no big deal for me. I don't need two finger zooming just one finger will do. Flash well not really important as I don't really surf the web on my phone.
It would appear there is no voice activated dialing any ideas if this will be added ?? Looking at getting this phone but still keeping my 3 gs
Confirmed: No multitouch for Xperia X10
Sony Ericsson sys:
“It is correct that the X10 will not support multi-touch. However with the X10’s signature applications, the X10 offers an excellent user experience.”
