I'm very sorry, today I tested this phone in Romania. The design, the shape, the Internet speed are very dissapointing. The price - 200 Euro without contract. In Romania you can buy a super Satio with 100 euro more without contract. So i Think Satio is light years ahead, maybe the best phone ever created by Sony Ericsson!

facebook - same as any other android as it uses the android FB app
no front camera - as 3g phone it can receive video call but your caller cant see you
2.1 - expected late November
Battery - not the best, can expect 2 days use max, it has a small battery as the phone itself is so small.
Software - runs perfect, generally no lag at all even for 600mhz and only 128mb ram. However slows with too many app open, hence need task killer.

I chose X8 over galaxy 3 for a very important reason. Galaxy only has a QVGA resolution screen which looks terrible for android where as X8 has standard HVGA. Ofcourse galaxy 3 will get 2.1 sooner if not already and may get 2.2 whereas X8 is still on 1.6. HOWEVER, non of that matters if you have a low resolution screen which you need to look at in disappointment everyday. Nokia X8 is hardware wise a better phone and I'm pretty sure its also more expensive. however, it doesn't have android, the symbian OS cant even match android 1.6. These days, Symbian is just old technology. Android/WP7/iOS is the only way to go.

well i found out a lot about the phone ... as everyone is waiting for the update for the android ... even i am ... but another question i has i dat i dont see any front cam ... as in secondary cam is not there... therefore it does not support video calls...am i right ??? but i know its a 3G phone ... so plz do let me know :)

you're right, lousy symbian.. But atleast i know im buyin an SE and not nokia, symbian in nokia are poorly customized.
