I really don't understand you guys, why are you all the time complaining about android 1.6 (I've also seen gsmarena doing this), that this phone is outdated?! You can do an update by yourself when the 2.1 will be released in a few weeks, what's the big deal?! If you really like the interface, then buy it, i really like it a lot and i don't care if it's android 1.6 or else, it looks cool. You will never have a phone with the firmware up to date because all the time a new version will be released and by the time it will be available for your phone, you'll be outdated, so... If you guys really think that this is something that you cannot get over with, then stop commenting and buy yourselves a better phone for this price.
And to all others that require secondary camera: listen, you can go and videochat by skype on the internet, the phone is to communicate fast. This is the role of the mobile phone, if you realy need this (seconday cam), then get another one. Why to spend hours holding the phone in hand when you can sit on a couch and videochat by internet, which is not harming you as the mobile phone does. Remember, the mobile phone harms your health, just read about SAR values and you'll see.

I was wondering, can you put customised themes/live themes over the Sony X8 UI? Also, can you customise the icons too (for example change the look to Iphone style buttons/icons)? -Thanks in advance!

x8 comes with secondary camera and the os is 2.1 not 1.6 but no flash is dispointing.

since 3 years of using se phones.. i'm disappointed with phone because it lacks front facing cam ,flash and autofocus on the 3.15 cam... i hope they will put some in the final product.. :]

it should be priced as the lg gt540, because they're basically the same...
only, i like the bigger battery more on the gt than the capacitive screen on this one
