You could really say that they are twins if you are going to compare them. and yes, w8 and x8 can read pdf file either with officesuite program that you can download for free or any pdf reader program from the android market

As far as i heard, you root the phone (loosing guaranty)and install custom rom,including Android 2.3. I heard people saying it runs much better and that even has multitouch...
Not daring to do it on myself, though.
