That's what I meant about coping Chinese phones. Personally, i hate waterdrop on my OP 6t, hate curved display and of course the hole in the display. It's ugly for me

AlexP, 14 Apr 2019It's not a copy of Samsung. Samsung copy so many Chinese phones and it's factSamsung choose the punch hole solution but most of the China still chosen the water drop notch. They all don't have the straight line on the fore head of the phone and they don't have a tiny bezel for better grip in landscape posture. The tiny bezel which allow to place the front camera and sensors and earpiece rightly unlike those maker shrink down the space to limitation the healthier coordination and sturdier designs, some more other get elevator camera which give up the waterproof designs, it is not perfect at all!

But if its about exact triple camera arrangement, it starts with Mate 20 (Samsung phones before Mate 20 is Note 9, which still using dual camera setup). Vanilla Mate 20 using none quad bayer tech fyi, its a 12mp Sony IMX380, 1/2.3" sensor size at 1.55 micron pixel size.

I mean the primary camera. People thought sony will bump the megapixel to 48mp. But they choose the safe proven formula, 12mp dualpixel pdaf OIS, seems familiar? Yes its sammy formula since S7, plus ultrawide, and telepoto, see.. S10 formula.

Yup Xperia 1 design finally back to Sony classic design, & i kinda love it. 21:9 screen ratio also looks good to me. However, if they want to using 21:9 screen device, make it bezelless all around, with pop up selfie camera, that way, they can control the size of the phone for not looks like its too tall. Earpiece under the screen just like P30 Pro does, with side stereo speaker. I would buy that phone in a heart beat.
Hardware side, yup, nothing new, just a safe play including the camera. And no, its not S10 formula, Mate 20 series starts the triple camera setup (rgb + ultra wide + telephoto).

Excellent design. No notch, elegant edges, looks like Galaxy S10. Sony must improve their marketing strategies and advertising. One of the most beautiful phones on the market.

The multiple camera is the trend for some more features. Sony flagship always has great endurance, so you no need to worry it.

I know sony will follow the notch trend soon (just like the tall ratio). Or maybe the will follow Oppo and Samsung, using the sliding/rotating camera.
And I dont like both notch and hole.
And i saw your post long time ago that you also hate multi cameras, you said it waste battery power and blablabla.
What is your excuse now? Xperia 1 uses Triple main cameras now + 1selfie camera.

If Sony Wants a Better Result in the World Market. So Sony listen carefully, Advertise Your Products More and More. Otherwise Stop Making Products for The World. Just Make for your own country and use them in your country.
I Don't Know why Sony is careless about his Customers. They are not listening what customers wants. First of all they should fire or terminate the marketing manager of his Company. Because they don't know how show new devices or products in the world. They never advooertise there products like Samsung, Huwaie, Nokia, Oppo, ViVo Etc.

Xperia 1 is gorgeous. I love the design.
But like you said.. it's all thanks to samsung. because the design is inspired from galaxy phones.
Samsung have made sony to move forward.
