Anduril, 2 hours agoHi everyone,
how are the owners finding the 10 II's performance?
I am looking at upgrade... moreI think this suits your usage (and honestly almost everyone else except extreme power users).
Don't fall for the specs trap. Higher numbers don't always mean your experience will be that much better. Maybe it would show up if your main app is Antutu but for day to day use, I wouldn't worry about it.
Flagships need it just because they need to be the best, and poorly optimized phones need it because, well, they're poorly optimized (and need extra power to run the spyware in the background ;)) but the question is do YOU need it? For most people the answer is no.
how are the owners finding the 10 II's performance?
I am looking at upgrade my really really old Z5 Compact, the only thing that concerns me is the Snapdragon 665 CPU on this phone, but I guess it can't be any worse then the 5 year old CPU on my current phone? (Snapdragon 815)
usage - social media, email, youtube, movies and music, various banking and other apps, maybe the occasional Google Maps, don't play games at all.
the Xperia 5 or 5 II would certainly be very nice, but I feel like I am just wasting money for my usage.
Someone posted the battery test results from phonearena and this phone scored 10 hours 58 minutes in their test. Compare that to the Moto G8 in the same test getting 8 hours 55 mins with the same chipset and larger battery
I am not surprised at all, the battery optimization on this phone is insane!
Anonymous, 23 hours agodoes it have option to quickly launch camera with power button? Yes, it does. You can launch camer by double press at power button.
And battery is just wow. I got 13 SOT, almost 3 days after full charging. Twitter, Youtube, Messaging. Without games and only on WiFi.
bester, 31 May 2020how's the the split screen experience?? youtube and chrome mostly, or youtube with others app
... moreIt's actually pretty great, you can put Youtube in the top window, fullscreen it, and it will fill that window. Then you can shrink it to match the vertical size. From there you can use bottom window as your main phone.. Like pressing the home key will keep the top window running Youtube, and you can open twitter, reddit, facebook etc (Instagram is not supported for some reason)
Each window has its own task switcher too, so you can change youtube to anything, etc. You can even switch between different paired tasks. Like youtube/twitter twitch/facebook, whatever
It's a neat feature that will be VERY useful to some power users.
So far I haven't run into performance issues, which tells me that 4 GB of ram is plenty for real world use. I mean you're essentially using two phones in one... However I haven't used a major resource hog like Google Maps in this mode, though I doubt I ever would
RTypeDelta, 31 May 2020How about gaming performance? It's good for light games, but don't expect playing Fortnite. For that game you need at least Snapdragon 670 or 675.
Igor, 29 May 2020Yes, I can confirm that the phone does have a gyroscope.
Overall phone is very good. Screen ... morehow's the the split screen experience?? youtube and chrome mostly, or youtube with others app
ive already pre order it, maybe it'll come in next week
i barely use split screen, but it'll be a good plus if it works (so i can utilize the tall screen) but if its not
i mainly use phone for music, light gaming, and watch movie/youtube, so decent performance its ok for me,

HeyHey, 30 May 2020I kinda interested on Xperia 10 II and recently Sony just launched this phone on my country.Do... moreWell, it's only up to you - I would prefer (and I will) Sony because of the build quality, waterproof (IP), clean Android and UI stability (Samsung is everything but clean and stable when it comes to SW interface). But still lot of people like Samsung phones, so most likely you won't do mistake by choicing either of them.
Out of non-Chineese brands there is still LG. But my preferences out of these options would still stay at Sony (and they also DO stay - my Sony is already preordered).
Wish you make good phone choice which suites you best - let us know how you decided!
P.S.: And maybe there is also this attitude: Are you intersted in Sony? Go for it. Sony needs customers to support their mobile division. You could help to keep another market competitor to the major brands alive. Samsung have plenty of customers already...
I kinda interested on Xperia 10 II and recently Sony just launched this phone on my country.Does this phone really worth to buy because I want to upgrade my phone this year and tbh I want to avoid any Chinese phone so my only opinion is either Samsung or Sony.
Btw I use Redmi 5 (kinda old tho).
Ravikumar, 27 May 2020Specs good, but 6gigs ram would be great. You won't need them 6gigs. Chinese phones put more because they can't manage it. Sony does a good job at ram management
Igor, 29 May 2020Yes, I can confirm that the phone does have a gyroscope. Overall phone is very good. Screen ... moreMy only question is. When I Want to take pictures does it lag? Like if I want to take multiple shots fast?
superpup, 29 May 2020Yes but the volume button is on the wrong side 🙄
Everything else about the phon... moreShame to hear those bad experiences with camera, but after all - it's not a priority to me anyway; so let's hope all the daily-use qualities such as a UI stability, not heating, battery endurance, multitasking, content browsing, realiability, non-lagging, build quality (...) will prove the high standard expectations. Nice to hear from you that almost everything else is good or great expect the camera issues - maybe it will be truly fixed by following updates after all.
Really looking forward to my "piece" - I am not any sort of blind Sony fan boy, this will be my first Sony device, but I am truly looking forward to it, which wouldn't be imaginable for me to feel this with any Chineese phone, or even Samsung. So personally I will gladly respect all those shortcomings (which will be there always, no matter what phone we would be talking about) and have something I feel happy about; than choosing better specs of uninteresting phone I feel nothing about :-)
I get it:) and what an ugly sticker on the back bleeee can i remove it?
Screen is very nice but i dont like protruding camera panel and volume button.
i even do not set everything its too much to do so i even do not start cemera at all;p size is nice phone is good handing but for me is a little to light.
At all a few days at all this issues stop disturbing me:)
SD665 with 4G Ram its enough for me and i do not notice any problems with that.
I like that phone but i would like it more when i set up everything transfer all data etc.
When i find smth bad (or good) i would write about:)
