Just wary as haven't heard of clove and worry if there was a problem with the phone. With the likes of o2 you can just walk into their shop to get it sorted (once they reopen obviously) Getting fed up of waiting to may end up ordering it elsewhere
Looks like i have any software problem. I still have problem with low sound in videos. And today phone first time broke- mega lag black screen (i only saw time, battery and rest of top bar) - i several times on and of screen (fingerprint sensor was working perfectly:P). When i restart everything was normall. Its strange because i do not maked anything speciall- play video via chrome. Till today i never had even small lag or smth.
I wrote to Sonys supportdue too low sound level but they only advise me to do fix option in Xperia companion. (I done this firstly before wipe and all i done). I wrote to them again and wait for an answer.

Next year Sony must make smartphone based on snapdragon series 7 especially 765 or fans will go to other brands because 660, 670 are old and next year also 730 will be old so Sony have to go to 765 to compete other brands (e.g samsung A71, A72...)

Okay so I bought this phone and I have it now for a about a week. Since it's hard to find any reviews maybe it's useful for someone to share my opinion here. Don't expect any kind of professional review though, you'll have to wait for gsmarena to do that.
Overal I'm happy with it. It's a narrow phone, easy to hold with one hand and the plastic sides make give a very good grip, even though the back is glass. I will not be dropping this phone often. The only way this phone would drop is because of the camera bump on the back. I know this is done because of the use of cases but I never use a case. I have the white version and prefer it because you don't see the fingerprints on the back as easily.
The screen is very good, it looks gorgeous. I wish there was a way to lower the resolution to save some battery life though. It gets quite bright in sunlight and dim enough when you're in the dark.
I can't comment on the camera because I don't take a lot of photos and just about any camera will be good enough for me. I'd even be willing to buy a phone without a camera.
Battery life is outstanding. My previous phone was an Xperia XZ1 compact, as you can see on the test that phone has one of the better battery life out there. I had about 2 days on one charge with that phone. The 10 II feels like it will do about the same. Right now I use it a lot because it's a new playtoy and I'm still home alone most of the time but I still get easily more then a day out of it. According to GSam Battery Monitor my average battery cycle is about 1day and 6 hours with 8,5 hours of screentime. That screentime is used for some light games mostly and a bit of browsing. On my average usage I might get close to two days of battery life.
I was skeptical about the tall aspect ratio but I've somewhat changed my mind about that. I appreciate more screen surface compared to my old phone and the extra high does come in handy for some content like games for example. Also, if you ever want to take advantage of dual screen mode on Android, this aspect ratio is the only viable option imho.
It is still very tall though and getting to the top with your finger is still bothersome. One handed mode and the quick sidebar do make up for that for the most part but activating the quick sidebar does take some practice. I'm still not really used to it.
The tall phone does make it too big for some pockets but not any more then the average phone these days.
The fact that there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack was a must have for me and this is one of the few phones that has one. Waterproofing at this price range is amazing and Sony is still the best non-rugged phone manufacturer out there. Sony is the only brand of phone that I will comfortably use under the shower or use outside when it's raining if I wanted to. Also the only brand that actually gives warranty on it when it comes down to it (I live in Belgium, in your region it might be different).
Then there is the build quality. As a lot of people point out, Sony is and never will be the best value for your money when it comes to specs. Compares to other phones in this price range the Xperia 10 II has low specs. There is no way around that. But phones aren't just raw specs and numbers. For one thing, we have seen that battery life can vary widely even with phones with similar specs and battery size. Sony usually does a very good job of optimization. As mentions this phone also has waterproofing, which you won't find easily in this price range. Even more expensive phones don't all have it. But then there is also one other aspect that is barely mentioned ever: build quality, in general. Unless you buy a new phone every year automatically you want a phone to last. You want it not to get busted easily when dropped. You don't want to see too many scratches on the phone. You probably want the battery to last as well. My previous Sony phone has excellent build quality, I dropped it a LOT but it never stopped working or had any glitches whatsoever. Without testing that theory this phone at least feels very sturdy and seems like it can take a hit. Sony also claims to use a feature to extent the quality of the battery for longer then other manufacturers. If this feature actually works, I do not know. I also can't comment on this with my current phone. All I can say is that my previous phone, which has the same feature is 3 years old and still has the exact same battery life then it had when I first bought it. 3 years is still not very long but I can compare it to other phones in the past, mainly LG, where the battery life was slowly deteriating after 2 years of use.
Oh, almost forgot: let's talk about performance. I personally don't do any heavy lifting with my phone. Don't play any heavy duty games or apps and I don't run 20 apps at the same time or anything that would be too tough to handle for any decent midrange soc. In that regard this phone will do just fine for me just like any other midrange phone would. Software does contribute to that. I've used Samsung in the past and in my experience the launcher and the software always lags somehow. Sony doesn't change a lot to android and keeps it very basic but it all works well, it all works stable. Looking at raw performance, this phone, just like any other Sony phone never reaches the same heights other phones with the same soc do. On the contrary, other same specs phones usually have higher raw performance then Sony phones and I'm pretty sure that's the case here too. Then again, you will not have the glitches and general lagginess that other phones like Xiaomi and Samsung and most cheap Chinese phones tend to have. The best way to describe this phone is: it simply works. Everything works and everything is reliable at any given time. Since I don't do anything that needs high performance I prefer this approach to any other. If you play heavy graphical games, maybe there are better options.
I think I've covered the basics here. Again, not a professional review in any way, just me sharing my own real life experience with it. I'm a happy customer and the 370 euro price tag is definitely worth it for me when you consider EVERY aspect of it. If longevity is not something you care for though, there are much better phones out there for you. And if you're looking for great raw performance there also might be better phones.
tunggf, 25 Feb 2020Oh.. Xperia 5 does not have Night mode? So weird Sony.I don't know exactly what night mode is, never had a phone that has it but I can see in the settings of this phone that there is a feature called "night light". The description says it makes the screen more orange so it's better for the eyes at night.

Sure, the other phone other than both are bigger, especially 2017 and after that, with the rising phone above 6.4"+, but I only frontally mentioned S10e in my comment, because Xperia 5 competitor was only either Pixel 4 or S10e. We're not even talking about 16:9 projection of a screen diagonal that resulted in a marginal difference of a screen diagonal and optimization of battery management here, at all.
Xperia 10 II is equally smaller to Xperia 5 in terms of dimension, screen area, diagonal and resolution, even type of screen display (OLED). If 3140 mAh with more powerful SD855 on Xperia 5 resulted in 96hr ER, you can imagine how high the ER on Xperia 10 with a bigger 3600 mAh with more efficient SD665.
TheGoldenMellifluous, 12 May 2020Well, you better surprise how Sony even managed to squeeze its battery life performance in a "... moreYou people should bear in mind, the smaller the phone screen size. The less battery life it consumes. Most phones from 2017 till date is hovering around 6.4, 6.5, 6.7, 8 ,9 inches. , Xperia 5 is 6.1 inches. It makes a difference.
