Just to say have received my Xperia 10 II this morning and it's so far a great phone. Have changed from an Xperia x compact and getting used to the change in height although it's no wider and is actually thinner. I was worried about the loudspeaker but it's perfectly fine. Yeah it's not stereo but it's louder than my old phone by a mile. Just don't turn it full blast as it distorts. It's a lot faster and smoother to use so what all the concern about the snapdragon processor is about I will never know.

And since when is Sony spamming the phone market industry when they only launched 4 phones so far (PRO, 1 II, 10 II and L4), when the others are launching so many phones every single week like no tomorrow, even some people can't keep up with them? And what's your next target? Xperia 5 II? smh dude...

[deleted post]I'd guess it could be something like unwillingness of most people to consider other characteristics than just tech specs - while that's not so easy to consider and because of their obvious doubts and second thoughts about that, they want to force all other people who chose to look at (and pay for) different values, to follow their exact narrow way. Can't imagine there is something more than just insecurity feelings which force them to act so aggressively - otherwise it would be just normal discussion over their happy choice and our happy choice; both sides satisfied and pleased about their attitudes...

I done fix option and factory reset. I used only help app and services test (both on a board in stock) to check both microphones.
Ahave small number of apps and only 2 of them i get not from playstore: sonys email app (compatybile with android10) and recent call widget from Sonys too (this is version for older android but works perfectly).
Now i don't do nothing more and wait incoming update should fix it (i hope).
When any prolems appears again i get rid of this widget and conside wipe again.

Literally priced the same as the IQOO Neo 3. The difference is the Neo 3 has the 865, an SoC that performs over 3 times better. And a 144hz display to go along with it. The only real downside is the punch hole LCD.
Sony stop flooding the market with overpriced trash. This is twice the price it should've been.

I noticed that you have been messing around with trying to inst... moreOld apks never cause the phone to crush, unless the phone is rooted and you give that apk super user permission. It's surely a bug in the firmware and good luck with that because it will take a minimum of 6 months to sqush that bug by sony.

But how do you guys deal with... moreHaving the fingerprint sensor on at all times in my opinion is an AWFUL design choice by Sony, and I hope they either disable it so it only scans when the power button is pressed (giving them a HUGE advantage over phones that have to place it on the screen or back) or at least let us enable it as an option.

I noticed that you have been messing around with trying to install old APKs and playing with diagnostic functions... I would suggest resetting the phone, and just use it as a phone. If you don't like the software that comes with it, try something that is supported by the phone on the Play store, rather than custom APKs of old Sony software that was only intended to be used on one phone ever.

I'm thinking of buying one myself and I'm glad to see something said from someone who is neither pureblood Sony fanboy nor hater who only looks on numbers.
I mean, could this phone be better? Of course, OIS on main camera would be awesome, stereo speakers would be nice (but meh) and a better SoC would be greatly appreciated, not for the extra power but better lifespan and performance after few years.
I think this phone will be great for day to day use as a phone. For media, web and all normal apps. If you are looking for a gaming beast why are you looking at 6" phone? I want a phone that feels good in one hand, can easily run all my daily apps, if I see a funny bird take a picture of it and if I want, I can plug my Audio-Technika wired headphones in for some premium sound. This is the phone that can do it.
I've seen some people compering phone companies to cars and I think it has a point. You can buy VW Golf or other VW concern car (Samsung, Xiaomi) and it would be good car. You can buy a BMW and pay premium for great engine and features (flagships). This phone is a Toyota, it is not flashy or extra powerful, but it will perform almost anything you need it for and most likely will perform it far longer then others thanks to optimization. It is the boring safe bet, but it will work.
For those who call this phone overpriced I say 'sure, I guess'. You can find better for cheaper from Chinese companies or just as good for cheaper. But if you care, you can take in consideration that Sony has stricter environmental policies than most companies so bit of that higher price can make a huge difference on the effect on the sustainability.
I personally will wait and buy one as soon as the price drops to ~300 euro and I think it will be worth every single cent.

Yes, I tried the video and its sound as you wrote about it multiple times - but I don't think there is a problem in my case. What should I do to check it? Right now I don't think there is a problem, but so far didn!t have time to test it properly (did the tech tests in settings though - everything was alright)...

since i turn on flight mode while phone call ( :D) i try to catch it below the sensor or when its possible turn off screen before put it next to my ear. There is no way to change any fingersensor settings.
BTW are u check the sound level in videos? is it ok in your device or very very low like in my case?

Have the phone for second day, and I am happy about it so far... But how do you guys deal with touching the fingerprint sensor during the calls? It's on the exact same spot where I tend to keep my hand on, so it continuosly turns on the display (and then my ear mess up all the settings with the screen turned on :-)
Is it just about getting use to keep the phone in some different possition so I wouldn't touch the sensor (I'm not so succesful with that so far)? Or is there some trick I am missing? Like for example seeting the sensor to be activated only when pressing also the button, not only touching it? I didn't find that anywhere either...

Anonymous, 09 Jun 2020Does it have Gyroscope?The requirement for SteadyShot in Sony Xperia's camera needs gyroscope and some people told that Xperia 10 II does have a gyroscope sensor inside by some sellers and providers. So, it does have a gyro. Only it wasn't mentioned explicitly by Sony.
