Anonymous, 28 Apr 2020too much confusion bro! higher refresh rate, higher resolution, higher brightness,higher cont... moreI've got a Canon 70D DSLR and guess what, it has only 20.2 megapixels.
A Canon 5D Mark IV (~$2500) has "pathetic" 30.4 megapixels.
Can you say a 108MP phone camera is like 3~5 times better than a DSLR?
Or, why people would buy a 30MP DSLR instead of a 40~108MP mobile phone? Phones are much cheaper and have more juicy pixels.
Meditate on this.

Dear @SLSA

Did you see battery test of OP8 Pro?

60Hz = 12:28h web brownsing + 16:58h video playback
120Hz = 10:03h web browsing + 14:19h video playback

Standby time at 120Hz loses 4:45h compared to 60Hz. Total test was 9h weaker.

:)

And yes, have you ever seen Bugatti making an economical car at the price range of VW polo??? Of course volkswagen can build both economical cars and super cars but still Bugatti is Bugatti, Ferrari is Ferrari, Volkswagen is volkswagen :). You just can't compare among them. Everything is great for its price range. I'm not talking about products here. But saying VW is better than Ferrari based on number of cars sold is just straight on stupidity. That's my point.

So according to you, VW polo is better than Buggatti Chiron. Makes no sense to me.

A product should be assesed based on Features and Quality it gives for that Price. Sony never let down peopl with its Quality. May be last few years mobiles came with some baggage but this year it is perfect Allrounder with premium flagship Looks.

SLSAHXOHVOMVN, 28 Apr 20201) is anyone taking that 4K60hz option away from you if other resolution with higher refresh r... more1. What part of my english don't you understand?? Anyone with rational brain knows that this mobile is not aimed at fre**s who love 120Hz. It is as useless as 100x space zoom or MEMC. Who am I to tell you his?? Just look at the specs smartboy.

2. Don't just throw Statements at. Drop the Proofs. Also no one Plays the games 24/7. Having 120Hz all the time and pushing Frames during games on 4K is completely different.

3. Sony Xperia 1 II is not even released yet. You are perfect example of sony hater. How can you tell it is not as fast as native 90Hz?? Did you even use it?? Also personally I don't care as fast 90Hz. 60Hz is fine for me. If you want more buy another mobile and stop complaining for silly reasons.

8bit+FRC. Since you are too lzay to do any Research, Lemme send you Explanation from Internet. "Unfortunately the level of control of the polarizing crystals isn't quite enough to give 1024 orientations between 0 and 90 degrees. So panels use FRC to create in-between shades.. (Older panels couldn't even do 256 orientations., leading to 6-bit + FRC) . Using 8bit + FRC as an example, you want to produce 1024 shades but the panel can only orient the crystals to produce 256 shades. e.g. Shade 0, shade 4, shade 8, etc. If the pixel is supposed to display shade 401, but the panel can only produce 400 and 404, what you do is rapidly shift the pixel between 400 and 404.

You show 400 75% of the time, and 404 25% of the time (hence the F in FRC - frequency). This produces the illusion of the pixel showing shade 401. If it were showing shade 400 and 404 50% of the time, it'd produce the illusion of shade 402. If it were showing shade 400 25% of the time and 404 75% of the time, that would be shade 403.

Since the vast majority of images and movies available are encoded with 8-bit color, they would display the same on both monitors. Unless you're working with photos or video shot with 10-bit or higher color depth, there really isn't any reason to prefer true 10-bit over 8-bit + FRC. And even then most people would be hard-pressed to see the difference."

Fast charging vs Ultra fast charging: Tchainese mobiles don't care About you after 2 years. Sony,Apple and Samsung are not losers to not go after high Watts Ultra fast charging. They care for batteries in Long run. Still having 18W on Apple and Sony, they get you 50% in 30Min. Fast charging upto 100% will only kill your battery. Ever wondered why Apple/ Sony don't go for those supe Ultra fast charging even though they spend morethan 1 Billion on R&D each year??? They are not stupid.

[deleted post]I agree that 90 Hz motion blur is not as good as 90hz native. But then again what are the alternatives if they want a 4k screen? 60hz or 60hz + motion blur (90hz simulated). Sony obviously target people who want a 4k display so the best that can be done at the moment is motion blur. Yes they maybe could include options for different resolution (they still might, although very unlikely). But this phone is meant for cinematography not for gaming. And if I am going to play video or look at photos it will move at the highest resolution possible. Again this is just my hypothesis as to Sony's thinking but it is very logical in its own way. And I like it

Looks like they have decided that digital zoom is good up to 200mm before the loss of quality becomes noticeable. That's basically 4 times closer than the human eye. Not as impressive as other brands I know. But then again, me personally, I would only use a high digital zoom in the cases when there was something in the distance and wanted to see what it was. (I can still do this with the Sony my zooming in on the 300mm picture) I certainly would not be using my phone to try to take quality pictures at a distance I have better equipment for that. And I am guessing that Sony's target group are mostly like me. Quality over quantity appears to me their Moto in the camera department

We all understand they have low sales, but it seems a liitle sociopathic to assume your opinion is necessary to ensure fans of Sony will be aware you dont respect the company. More bits means only more brightness levels of grayscale - you achieve [specific] color by mixing diferent [levels of brightnes] subpixels.
Any HDR10 display use 10-bit drive.

He is the one on this forum who can't accept any criticism against his favorite brand.

Never said the product was rubbish.
But simple statements like "most ppl gonna buy other phones at that price" are triggering a lot of users over here and they come out with all their hostility. I think these guys need to learn to take constructice criticism.
