I charged it mostly from 10% to 90%. Never fully discharged it. Phone temps while charging peak at 40°C, while not being used. 10% to 90% charge takes about 60mins.

I wish I can get it for that low.
Last year I saved money by importing from Clove (Xperia 1)

It is same as 3 yr ago, same usage pattern.

But, some people dont care about that, all they see is battery specs fastcharge and Mahs.

I personally dont care if my phone battery charges 5 min faster or slower, couldnt care a quack less about that trivia, I care that my battery keeps the same level of endurance, even now after 3 yrs...

(a little info about me. Since I was 12 years old, I have been obsessed with Li-ion technology, I've made numerous High discharge battery packs, built buck converters, boost converters, and miniature inverters (120vac from Li-ion battery) before graduating high school. I'm Currently studying at a University to get a Masters degree in electrical engineering and hopefully get a career in building Electric Cars (I'm also studying mechanics since I like cars)

We should not describe charging speeds by what the wall adapter is rated at. (I'm talking about 18w 21w 30w 65w etc) The proper unit to measure charging rate is by Coulomb's Law. (C-rate) (companies use watts because the average consumer has never heard of C-ratings)
Batteries have different capacities and require different amounts of charging current. For example, a 4000mah battery will need 4000ma (4amps) to fully charge in one hour. (Theoretically) It literally says it in the capacity (mah), 4000 milliamps for one hour. C ratings are charge current divided by capacity. so 4000ma/4000mah is 1, 1C. So if you charge that same battery at 8000ma it will be 8000ma/4000mah = 2 so 2C. Charging the battery at 2C takes 30minutes to fully charge. Phones with 2 batteries will only generate less heat if they are put in series (current stays same, voltage doubles, higher efficiency) but it will have to regulate the voltage since the SOC doesn't run on 7-8 volts(less battery life, excess heat). Now that I got that confusion out of the way lets move on to heat.

If you have taken physics before then you probably know about Newton's Second Law of Thermodynamics. Basically, during any conversion of energy, there will be a loss of energy in heat (or some other form of lower level energy). As the amount of energy converted increases, more heat is generated. Power hungry CPUs generate alot of excess (waste) heat. Technology is improving to minimize the loss of energy. So imagine putting 60 watts into a phone, at least 6watts of energy will be lost as heat just from charging the battery alone (at a 90% energy conversion efficiency). Phones can continuously dissipate heat up to 3-5watts (depends on phone material) without the use of external or internal fans. The max TDP of Snapdragon 865 is 5watts. Phones with flagship SOC will get hot.

I'm getting tired and I need to sleep, and I'm sure all the other people here don't want to read about our arguments, so I'll just end it here, I wont respond either.

You win, mmkay. Lets leave this chat to other topics about Xperia 1 II.

To everyone else, Sorry, I apologies for taking up too much space here. Take care Ya'll.

Chinese companies proved it in the budget and mid range segment where companies like Samsung, LG, HTC, Sony etc lost marketshare rapidly. Thereby forcing manufacturers like Samsung to put improved HW in their budget, mid range segment.

Chinese phones just have lower profit margins compared to American/Korean brands.
IPhone extracts the biggest profit margins out of all brands.
Sony has higher profit margins compared to Chinese flagships.
Sony didn't make lot of overall profit not coz their profit margins were high, its coz they sold less phones.

I already explained how all companies Chinese or otherwise use same quality components.
They lasting less compared to other brands is simply a fantasy of yours which doesn't hold in the real world.
You probably are influenced by your social circle where other ppl look down upon Chinese phones but will happily buy overpriced junk from American companies.

So you can't have cheaper and better in such a contested market. And don't tell me it is because Sony take more of a profit because we know sonys mobile division is not making money. You seem to believe that Chinese phones are somehow exempt from the laws that govern price and quality. Again Chinese phones other good specs for a cheaper price but the components are not of such a high quality so in most cases will break sooner. Surely you can see the logic in this

Chinese = bad, cheap quality phones.
                                        Sony = Japanese = better.

As far as specs go, most of these components have same hardware.
Gorilla glass is standard across all phones Chinese or otherwise.
Snapdragon chipset with 5g modem is same across all phones, Chinese or otherwise.
IP68 on Chinese phones will be same as any other.

Again no one cares about your anecdotal evidence, plenty of ppl using Chinese phones for years without a single fault. They changed phones every 2-3 years because they could, not because their phone died.
Besides phones from more than 3 years back have outdated design, weaker fast charging tech, weaker processor, weaker connectivity (lack of 5g, Bluetooth 5.1,etc.) so ppl choose to upgrade.
