Smithravi, 10 Apr 2020That's because no body uses these mobiles after 1-2 years??? It makes sense. I'm pretty sure ... moreThose who buy Xiaomi, Vivo, Realme, Redmi or whatever for sure keep their phones way longer than 2 years. The reason why buy them is because they cannot afford to throw away money on a mobile phone so they keep them until they break down. It's a complete myth that people switch their phones every two years, very tiny number of people do that. One percenters really. iPhone users switch a bit faster but even they are still into single digits

I'm pretty sure Xperia 2013 users will be more than sasmung users from 2018 this date.
Is it you Pro, 10 Apr 20201200 euro for an xperia?
Better buy galaxy, it's the safest and best option.Anyone with sane mind will never buy Samsung series this year. Why?? Just go look at the DJ effect u get while auto focusing :) (After April update)
Samsung doesn't give any of following:
-4K HDR Display
- 4k HDR recording at 60fps
- God tier 20 fps AF/AE with Eye AF
- Legendary Zeiss lens
- 21:9 display
- Sexy design without ugly notches and punchholes (+ fits good in one hand)
- Fast processor unlike lousy exynos (SD by samsung is only released in USA)
- dual front end speakers
- 360 degree audio function
-Photo pro & Cinema Pro
- Camera shutter button
Key fetaures compared to last year Xperia:
- 8GB ram
- Wireless charging
- Headphones jack + no audio losses like in BT
- Motionblur reduction (90Hz equivalent)
- 4000mah
- power button as fingerprint scanner
People have no problem with gimmicky 120Hz (u can't use QHD with this setting) and 108 MP (pixel binning to 12MP) and easily pay for 1500€ (with exynos lmao). No thanks. You can keep your S20 in your pocket. You just wasted your money on useless product.
PS: Last year 6GB Xperia and iPhone performed onpar with 12GB ram samsung and OnePlus in speed test. This also proves how crap Samsung and OP ram management is. Anything over 8GB ram is nonsense (even with 3 chrome tabs open). Over 12Gb is stupidity and where Mr.Silly lives

Just count the number of people using Z series this day and compare with S8 users :). You have your answer.
Anonymous, 10 Apr 2020Will you complain tomorrow when Sony launches next year's model with 12gb RAM? I DON'T THINK ... moreS20 or S20 Plus doesn't have larger camera sensor or headphone jack or 4K display or even 360 degree audio or dual front end speakers or even handsome design. So yeah 1200 makes sense when Samsung can sell mediocre "DJ AF" camera on S20 Ultra for 1500€ in europe with crappy exynos. Good luck man
Is it you Pro, 10 Apr 20201200 euro for an xperia?
Better buy galaxy, it's the safest and best option.Well, if that your taste to pick Samsung over Sony because it feels safer, I'm over with it, as people taste are different as we know.
But still, generalization a choice/taste/option of someone on something shouldn't be a thing, to be honest. In sociology, generalization could be a potential of social frustration and conflict, as the one being generalized feels not fitted in one group. It's like forcing everyone to go to the capital city for a better living than spreading through another city or village that still needs development. Same as phone and other sectors.
Besides, Xperia 1 II is only a few phones to ever managed to put all essential things in one package that people desired without too much or barely any frills (features such as no-notch / punch-hole display, 3.5mm headphone jack, big battery, flagship chipset, versatile cameras, stereo speakers, and with 5G as additional for this year, and so on). The only other phones I know ever managed to do this is the 2018 Samsung Galaxy Note9 and the Asus Zenfone 6 (2019). IDK if we're able to see this again in late 2020 or even 2021...
Except Zenfone 6, the all-rounder flagship phone started at a high price standard (I could be wrong, but this what I acknowledged at this point)
Tann Hauser, 09 Apr 2020Any 21:9 aspect 4k movie you download is reproduced at 3840x1600 res, be it your UHD TV or Ul... moreyep you and i say same thing glad finally someone came who understands something.
these ppl tell me this phone is UHD 21:9 lol. and then i was explaining no uhd 21:9 is wider and bigger than UHD 16:9 not smaller!
anyway except the imax crop movies that don't fit on this screen, ALL and any TV Series are also full crop 16:9 so none of them either are displayed on it 1:1 lol and all are down scaled to around QHD! and all of our own camera recordings same are 16:9 full crop and again non of them fit on this screen 1:1 . even same for sony cameras! so in the end we have a 4k screen that is more QHD than anything else in the works! that's why i say i care for display standards not just naming sake like 4k or else.
so screen doesn't give full UHD experience since it's not a UHD screen. that's all. using 4k name is kinna tricky as first thing that 4k resembles is uhd which in this screen is not the case. it's not wrong doing on paper! but looking at the market that knows uhd as 4k it resembles that.
if we had a simple 16:9 UHD screen on this phone it would give full UHD experience for all and any content without needs of any hype . speaking of why standards matter.
Tann Hauser, 10 Apr 2020I do think so.
As I am already complaining.
Xperia 1mkII is too expensive, just as all othe... moreI think I am fine with having 12GB or more if the software is optimized to utilize it fully to the extent where going with lesser RAM makes negative impact on performance and smoothness of phone. What good is 12GB or even 16GB RAM if the software is not well optimized to utilize it perfectly and get delayed transition or stutter.
Price, I completely agree it is bit over priced. I am ready to pay for it but not wholeheartedly. We don't have much option here as rest of the offerings from other brands are not as good as this.
Apple again ruined consumers with high priced models. Hate Apple for that.

I DON'T THINK ... moreI do think so.
As I am already complaining.
Xperia 1mkII is too expensive, just as all other flagship phones. And there is quite an obvious reason behind it... one of them being unlogical unecessary amount of excessive RAM, that is put inside phones just as a marketing selling point, without any justifiable reason to end user experience benefit.
And I am sure Sony will out a 12 gb ram phone, not because it is actually needed in any foreseable future, but only because global phone market rules force them.
And will be even more expensive...
But Sony makes the only flagship model phones today I myself consider the most complete smartphone solutions. So Im forced, in a way, to pay up for it, when a new phone will be needed.
Anonymous, 10 Apr 2020Will you complain tomorrow when Sony launches next year's model with 12gb RAM? I DON'T THINK ... moreYou don't get the point. Okay 12GB Memory is available, do you think SAMSUNG, LG, OnePlus, Xiaomi or any other brand can optimize the software in a way that it really makes difference over SONY 8GB Memory. If you think I am not making any sense, look back to previous implementations. Since the days of SD 820 SAMSUNG and OnePlus always had more Memory than SONY but how it was implemented and utilized is questionable. Even with lesser memory SONY always had better management than SAMSUNG and even OnePlus. We are not saying 12GB is pointless, we are saying that if not implemented and utilized correctly then why even provide 12GB.
AnonD-923639, 09 Apr 2020Its called google search genius. Hey genius, even after using Google, no forums or users found who complain about battery degradation on OnePlus, Huawei, Oppo which have now provided 30-40W charging for 2-3 years now.
So gimme a proper link showing Chinese flagships suffering battery degradation due to fast charging or learn take off your tin foil hat before vomiting out lies.

I DON'T THINK SO!
If the user is given an option of 8gb/12gb, I can understand since prices will be low for 8gb version. But here 8gb Xperia 1 II costing same as 12gb S20 & Find X2 Pro.
