Youtube app does not allow the device to play the video with resolution above what screen has. Otherwise any QHD phone would show option to set 4K like Xperia. But they do not.
If 3840 x 1600 is considered one kind of 4K, how cant you still say 3840 x 1644 is not?
21:9 = 2,3333
2160 x 2,3333 = 5039, 928 (can be said 5040)
5040 x 2160 = 5K , SD865 does not support 5K
4096x2160 is not 21:9
If Samsung, Apple or any cheap chinese put same screen, you will say it is 4K and celebrate.

I think Sony phones are optimised for this sort of thing.

simple. being quad hd is not against being 4k. you can watch 4k but can't watch UHD unless downscaled to qhd.
i already explained resolutions previously. ain't got time to do it again for every single kid that comes here.

Foxtrot2Novmbr, 07 Apr 2020What's the display nits?Last year Xperia 1, reviewed by this site, was able to reach 391 nits in manual mode and 665 nits in Auto (only browsing photos or watching videos). Xperia 1 II possibly in the ballpark of Xperia 1's nits measurement. It could be higher or lower.

Sales in Japan starts in 2 weeks if nothing goes wrong.
Japan units will earn few cam things as update. Units for Europe will ship with this update already.

Ain't we talking about whether it is 4K resolution or not??? You argued that it is not 4K till now. I gave you all evidence and now you started talking about UHD and QHD ?? This phone comes with 4K. QHD is term given to those which are greater than FHD and lower than typical 4K. UHD is the term given to true 4K (4096 x 2160 ) which is again one type of 4K and not a standard. Can you even read English. Links I gave you are completely in english.
