When they added back the 3.5mm jack, why did they not take it a step further with the 4-pole Active Noise Cancelling? They could have mentioned with the success of the WH-1000XM3 line. They could have added back the technology in the phone for light noise-canceling in-ear buds noise canceling. Sony was way ahead of the game with Noise Canceling, but now being such a hot 'Google search' and in the industry with a very popular item.

Anonymous, 20 Mar 2020Tell me how many people love that tall "bezelious" design? No one (except few fans in gsma)Those who want to watch movies in a class leading display and and also want to listen music like never before..
Despite some lackings Xperia will give you some features that you couldn't get those any other flagship phones...

for entertainment ( watching movies, listening musics) no other flagship can beat XPERIA....

Anonymous, 19 Mar 20204k screen is also a useless gimmick. Dvs vibration is also useless gimmick. I don't think Samsung will let their user watching the 8K video on their 2K smartphone screen. Let's see how long Samsung will jump into 4K display techs on smartphone. Xperia 1 play 4K video on it 4K display, that's much reliable and the Incomparable!

Anonymous, 18 Mar 2020there are many flagships nearly as expensive as xperia. but most people buy them instead of xp... moreCompare the technology that introduced by Sony Xperia 1ii, no one even close. Does latest iPhone come with Zeiss lens and Zeiss coating? Does latest Samsung come with Eye AF? Are they come with front stereo speakers? It is NO! So they should be cheaper and looks way cheaper too.

Writing from now almost 3 yr old X Performance, with qnovo (aka BatteryCare), but relatively small 2700 mah battery.
Charge it every night, so its been over some 600 cycles at least.
Batterylife still at 6-7 hr SoT.

QNovo (BatteryCare) DOES indeed matter for phones longeivity.

Gganso, 19 Mar 2020Every tech company has their own paradigm. You can't blame one for adopting this or praise one... moreagree... xperia is also somehow futureproof... z1c is still usable up to now and being water resistant, it is still identified as flagship, the battery degrades though, but what year is it?
i also have z5 premium and i enjoy watching 4k contents... most are my own video clips...
some people thought it is a small tv as they are not so familiar about xperia... i am excited to buy a new xperia, but i guess it defeats the purpose of buying a flagship xperia - it lasts long... but i somehow look over xperia 1 mk i and not mk ii, since i think it suits me better (i want to use organic 960fps, dont care much of wireless charging nor audio jack, i prefer sony wireless earphone... comfortable than wires, that is just me)
and yes, anyone can buy a phone that works for them and stop bashing what they dont even plan to buy.
