Sir-Shadow, 05 Mar 2020For those of you complaining about this aspect ratio and phone getting tall. If you are ask... moreThat's why 18 to 19.5 - 9 aspect ratio is a great middle ground
For those of you complaining about this aspect ratio and phone getting tall.
If you are asking for anything with 16:9 aspect ratio it shouldn't be more than 6 inch. Otherwise it will become wide and not easy to grasp.
This screen (21:9 6.5") is just as wide as a 5.2" 16:9 screen. This makes it easy to grasp with one hand but also a little taller and useful.
I have an HTC 10 and when I imagine that this phone is just 2 cm taller than my phone and almost all of it is screen, I see everything I ever wanted. Something that on-screen keyboard doesn't kill all the space of screen.
Not wide but taller.
In Romania, it will be 1050 euros ..
Sony mobile will be END, soon
Anonymous, 05 Mar 2020and sony will miss its target.
as usualWell, explain this then, give your arguments, but you need to log in first to talk me again : https://www.gsmarena.com/sony_sells_13_million_smartphones_during_the_holiday_period-news-41361.php
.
1.3 millions may be small for your own vision, but that sales double from last quarter (600K), which exceed Sony's expectation, and it did passed Sony's 2019 Mobile accumulative target sales from the beginning. So, your argument are baseless for this one... Lol

Anonymous, 04 Mar 2020No one with 40W charging has destroyed their phones.
Learn how battery degradation due to fas... moreI don't know about Apple very much, but for Sony, they have a solid reason why they didn't bring fast charging in area of 40W+. Fast Charging above 40W may be rapid and convience. But remember, the more you use it, the breakdown of a battery will be faster as well, as battery has an economical age of usage and the electric charge going on AC is faster than usual, as some scientific research have said (you can find it for yourself in the internet. There are enormous lists of them). They rather bring features where you able to conserve your phone's battery as long as possible to prevent short living of a battery, so you can use longer than 2-3 years. Widely-known for current state that's a very-rare commodity of user-friendly removable battery in 2020 phones and battery has been planted into the phone itself, at least since 2015+.... Do you know their widely-admired Battery Care and Qnovo Adaptive Charging features? Those are the features where Sony executed the mission of conserving battery life on a phone to maximum potential and period, and it has been proven that almost all the time, it conserved the battery economical life much better (at least 2016 and early 2017 Xperia X Series).
Besides, you should be at least grateful Sony upgraded their fast charging solution power (brick) from 18W to 21W in Xperia 1 II... Sure, possibly in the future, Sony will beefed up it again to around 25W-30W+ area, but be grateful now. Their wireless also beefed up from 9W to 15W... And best yet, even their low-end tier phone have 18W Fast Charging with USB PD, starting with L3 and now L4... Even some companies still neglecting Fast Charging for their low-end, yet Sony already provided one since last year, even they don't include the proper charger retail in the box...
Nnabazz, 04 Mar 2020Please does anyone here know when the phone is going on sale?Approximately : Late Spring 2020
Please does anyone here know when the phone is going on sale?

Fast charging = faster battery degradation.
It... moreNo one with 40W charging has destroyed their phones.
Learn how battery degradation due to fast charging works.
Fans complaining about battery degradation until Sony and Apple gives 50w charging on their phones.
You'll notice a change in their opinion on fast charging overnight.
Sony hasnt done anything like this before.. they have fine tuned the Xperia 1. this could be a turning point
Zorvani, 04 Mar 2020I like it, software, hardware, an nice design But i don't buy it with this bloody price... Yeah price is bit high. But it can be considered as long term investment. Unlike some other brands which even being flagships don't last long. SONY flagships are pretty much guaranteed to last long and are extremely reliable. SONY has lowest failure rate in smartphones. It remains pretty much lag free for ever. Instead of swapping $500-700 phones every 2 years I will be purchasing it at $1000-1200 and using it for good 5Yrs. I used XPERIA Z1 for 6Yrs straight. Battery was only thing that degraded over time and it was much noticeable for last two years. It never lagged even once. It was as smooth as as it was in its first year by the end of its life. Yes comparatively to 2019 phones it was slow in loading apps but it was usable and extremely responsive. I played intensive games like Asphalt 8, Future Fight, Injustice 2 and many more on it no problem. Never lagged or crashed while gaming. Now with controlled charging and battery maintenance system implemented into it even battery will last longer without degrading much over time.
Is it Verizon compatible?
