Zorvani, 04 Mar 2020I like it, software, hardware, an nice design But i don't buy it with this bloody price... Yeah price is bit high. But it can be considered as long term investment. Unlike some other brands which even being flagships don't last long. SONY flagships are pretty much guaranteed to last long and are extremely reliable. SONY has lowest failure rate in smartphones. It remains pretty much lag free for ever. Instead of swapping $500-700 phones every 2 years I will be purchasing it at $1000-1200 and using it for good 5Yrs. I used XPERIA Z1 for 6Yrs straight. Battery was only thing that degraded over time and it was much noticeable for last two years. It never lagged even once. It was as smooth as as it was in its first year by the end of its life. Yes comparatively to 2019 phones it was slow in loading apps but it was usable and extremely responsive. I played intensive games like Asphalt 8, Future Fight, Injustice 2 and many more on it no problem. Never lagged or crashed while gaming. Now with controlled charging and battery maintenance system implemented into it even battery will last longer without degrading much over time.
Is it Verizon compatible?
Ank, 04 Mar 2020The underscreen fingerprint scanner mostly used by others companies is just Optical (A camera ... moreIf Sony wanted that, they would have done.
There is a patent for that from 2012.
The underscreen fingerprint scanner mostly used by others companies is just Optical (A camera under that part of the display that took picture of your fingerprint) and that all. Cheap tech and people or so obsessed with it just because it sound futureristic but let be honest here, side-mounted / power button is so much better and perfect to use even when place on desk. Plus you don't have to smudge your screen everytime you need to unlock it
Matt, 04 Mar 2020You wont be saying that in a year or two when it becomes standard. Phone height has been incre... moreFunny... he surely doesnt mock all other 20:9 or 20.5:9 ratio phones of 2020 as remote controls.
But anyways, in 2020 a new mobile standard is obviously 21:9, as in a standard screen ratio supporting certain media aspect ratio standard: such as movies, newest TV shows and games.
So anything more close to 21:9 and less close to that other older 2018 18:9 ratio standard, as in 20:9 for ex, is just an unsupported nonstandard aspect ratio catching up to a 2020 21:9 standard.
Although IMO good ol 16:9 aspects should also be an option in todays mobile space.
Sanuda, 04 Mar 2020Yeah i noticed itit's an honest an simple mistake as the phone name is confusing in chinese is uses the first character for sony and first character for aiwa (on the phone itself) and to a person who can not read chinese, not too dissimilar to chinese words for a sony, hence why the official name is Soayi which is a clone phone company
kamran, 03 Mar 2020selfie 8mp charging 18w price 1200eur!!!!!!!!!!Low resolution = better low light performance
Fast charging = faster battery degradation.
Its suprisly form me how people are happy for 40W chargers that destroy battery performance in one year.
I like it, software, hardware, an nice design
But i don't buy it with this bloody price...
imparanoic, 04 Mar 2020anyone notice that the articale about lost in translation soiay s20a has been deleted.Yeah i noticed it
Caesar , 03 Mar 2020This phone is (too) tall, it looks like a tv remote control. You wont be saying that in a year or two when it becomes standard. Phone height has been increasing steadily since early 2017. The S7 was the last Samsung flagship to use a 16:9 display. The S8 released next year and S9 a year after were both 18.5:9, the S10 was 19:9 and the S20 is 20:9. Tell me, what do you think comes next? lol
...21:9
Caesar , 03 Mar 2020This phone is (too) tall, it looks like a tv remote control. This phone is too perfect
anyone notice that the articale about lost in translation soiay s20a has been deleted.
People keeps screaming about the price of the Xperia because it doesn't have in-display fingerprint scanner and lower battery capacity etc. but Alpha and CineAlta tech doesn't come cheap. lol
Jade, 03 Mar 2020Except for the fact that In display fingerprint sounds like advanced tech, practically speakin... moreThat is the best possible implementation.
This phone is (too) tall, it looks like a tv remote control.
the best thing in this phone is the number of pixels in the inch
the highest ppi till now
to be honest this 😮😯😱🤯 was my reaction when I saw the resolution details ~643 ppi
it's a challenge from sony to push Samsung and other companies to the edge
well Sony beat Samsung Galaxy S20 in the pixels density
I'm a Samsung fan but i like the EXPERIA Resolution
selfie 8mp charging 18w price 1200eur!!!!!!!!!!
headphone jack AND micro sdcard you say? finally one brand that is still smart enough to stop following the stupid trend apple set
this or the lg V60 gonna be my next phone
Anonymous, 03 Mar 2020by the time sony release this phone...many of its competitors will introduce new phones with a... moreWhat same specs?
10 bit equivalent 4k screen, enhanced 3.5 mm jack, DSEE Ultimate, 360 Reality audio, indirect ToF, 20AF/AE or 60hz 10 bit HDR capable camera?
I assure you none will.
Competiton may be smarter in future and maybe bring the common headphone jack back, probably pump up the ram/rom, camera mpx, all those number specs that dont cost RnD at all, and ask for less.... but certainly will not bring Sonys proprietary top specs and feats.
But All I can see for now, is all of em copying near 21:9 screen ratio, like 19.5:9, 20:9 or even 20.5:9... but thats ridiculous, as those ratios dont stand up to any at all media standards
M33, 02 Mar 20201200 euro flagship with side-mounted Fingerprint Except for the fact that In display fingerprint sounds like advanced tech, practically speaking, sidemounted fingerprint scanner is better and reliable. Plus, hey, power and scanner is same button
