It's pretty much the same but more rugged body (hoping for more MIL-STD-G protection to go with it), 512GB hard drive space, and 5G that works in the US. I'm HOPING that it comes with even a slightly bigger battery but we gotta wait for the official word.

There is only one more phone I need to see before my final choice - P40Pro Premium end of next month. April sale. At least the Sony is also for April, May start selling just like P40Pro Premium. No faster no slower.
Let's see what Huawei will show us !! For now the 1 II is 1st on my list after letdown by LG V60 and so-so for mi 10 pro and 1000$ pricetag (for CN version on top of that with warranty valid only in China) currently. If 720$ MSRP was same price in aliexpress, I would get mi 10 pro, but this price will be after 9 months ...

At last we have a 4k video shooting option at 25fps, which PAL countries will really welcome.
no more flickering street lights! and fully compatible with 50hz tv standards which is MOST of the world. Shame there is no 50p option though.

I think that the price of this phone is high because i guess it does not sell any ads, compare to samsungs, huawei or Xiaomi (which have their own UI bloated with ads)

Woah, almost 20 pages of stupid comments like "uh oh, no 120hz, I will nevah buy it" , "hurr durr only 4000 mah, minimum in 2020 should be 5000" or some bullshit false claims like "uh oh, no wireless charging - a big NO for me (when the phone actually has one and besides, one missing gimmicky feature like this makes a phone bad?)

By far Sony is the only one that keep me interested with their design as the others either keep adding a rounder corner on their screen or big notch.

Probably a nice phone, with SD865 and a very high res display and all, but sooo darn tall - not that easy to reach with regular hands/fingers. 3x optical zoom is good, but not impressive, as is(n't) 12 Mpix. Same with the dual sim and/or microsd-card plus 3.5 but no radio /middle-aged radio man ;-)

Well 1200 EUR is quite a lot. Too much i think. But as i said, this SD865 must be quite expensive soc.
Overall i hope other iterations of mark 2 wont cut much corners on money account.

The context of the sentence was about money, I'd rather keep my money for something more useful.
I don't own a sony phone nor am I planning to buy this, I'm just stating that 120hz screens are over rated for the general public. If you want to spend the extra money, go for it.

You are keeping your 60hz display for something more useful? What exactly more useful?
You simply have no argument to defend Sony not giving higher regresh rate display on their flagship. Flagship phones must have flagship specs. This ain't some budget device.
As I said, the grapes will be sour for you until mama buys you a higher refresh rate display.

Exyvia, 27 Feb 2020I have a 144Hz gaming monitor at home, and don't mind going back to 60Hz - still using these w... moreCompletely true, you need very fast reflexes in a fast paced game to take advantage of a high refresh rate screen, the only difference is the slight smoothness, while nice, 60Hz is no deal breaker, specially in phones where 60hz saves battery.
