I love this phone quite simply. All the issues that I had with other phones have been dealt with. Sony Xperia phones may not be as easy on the eye as some other phones but I'm more interested in functionality. The screen ratio soon became as perfect as the quality of the picture is. Sony phones also age well and the battery care software is excellent for looking after your phone long term. If the first month of ownership is typical, I will be keeping this phone for a few years at least.
I like sony mobiles. But these new mobiles are very expensive and biggest drawback is battery. Other brands like samsung are coming up bigger battery.
Sony should improve in this competitive market and make their phones affordable or else one again they may lose the markets.
Many Chinese mobiles are made affordable with new features.
Ellio74, 27 Sep 2020No, I didn't, but speaker test is available here. I guess they're testing the phone ... moreDo you have xperia 1 II...
I have one question if you don't mind,
Can you check google indic keyboard app is working this xperia 1 II or not.
I have before sony mobile but they not supported google indic keyboard.
I like Sony
Thanks
Xperia 5 ii is more of a bargain than the already great Xperia 1 ii
Steven, 12 Oct 2020With such price, how does it compete with Korea or China phones.... It never meant to. And interestingly, the model that they will release in china actually have larger ram(12gb), and claimed to have the back cover paint peeling issue fixed as well.

Smithravi, 07 Oct 2020Finally this guy Marques made video about Sony. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7QwJ-M_GAI&... moreXperia One Mark Two, Two? Hahahaha!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7QwJ-M_GAI&... moreyes you are correct on 2... i have z5 premium and since i am in the philippines, it works unlike in us...
they continued it to x series and xz series, until xz2 and xz3 which put the fingerprint sensor at the back since they want to sell in the us... xperia 1 decoupled it because of the same issue, but now they put them together again... i can say it improves a lot... the fingerprint scanner for z5 premium is not always on... the display should be open before the sensor works... that is why if the display is off, you have to press the power button...
on xperia 1 ii, you only need to place your finger without pressing it, it helps for the longevity of the power button... i have nokia n9 and i usually press the power button, now it is hardpress, cannot turn on... my miro has similar condition but at least the power button still works...
I like Sony Product.
Sony xperia 1 II this one supported in gujarati language.
Because I have before sony xperia V but they not supported Gujarati language,
Not only xperia V May be to many xperia model they not supported GUJARATI Language and I not this issue...Not only Gujarati language other to....
Thanks and regards

Few Corrections:
1. Xperia 5 II is not successor to Xperia 1 II but compact flaghship of Xperia 1 II
2. Sony has been using side mounted fps since Z5???
3. Xperia 1 II is announced on Feb 24th and was released in May (Asia), June (Europe), July (USA). But not in Sept or Oct.
Big Alex, 02 Oct 2020Small detail but one that's very annoying: why sony keep puting the 3.5mm jack on the top... moreimpratical - doesn't mean it's wrong location
Big Alex, 02 Oct 2020Small detail but one that's very annoying: why sony keep puting the 3.5mm jack on the top... morebecouse if you put headphone jack and charger close to each other there might be static noise and thats not cool soo its actually a good thing its on the top
Big Alex, 02 Oct 2020Small detail but one that's very annoying: why sony keep puting the 3.5mm jack on the top... moreI think it is due to their internal design. If you want 3.5mm headphone jack underside, they have to change whole internal design which might make phone bulkier or in appropriate aspect ratio, who knows. I'm pretty sure Sony has their own reasons.
I get it what you saying but according to them, and you can also see it in their Ads they keep inside their pockets in vertically straight and not in the reverse. Personally I feel those days are gone when I listen music wired while my phone is in the pocket in Bus or Tram or in Subway train lol. I use wired only at home for music and wireless when I go outside.
Small detail but one that's very annoying: why sony keep puting the 3.5mm jack on the top, this is so impratical
pan, 01 Oct 2020"crazy experiments" is somehow needed... some fans or plain xperia users just dislik... moreI agree, but in current situation I think is better to improve the phone in some key areas.
Latest 1ii and 5ii look great. I don't even mind mediocre front camera and somewhat dim screen.
At the moment I own Xperia 5i and won't upgrade in the next 1-2 years. So by this time my possible next phone can be Xperia 5iii or Xperia 1 iv. Or even something from other brands, who knows. :)
What I would like to see is smartphones overall having bigger sensors. So they can be used as compact cameras.
