I still have 4-5 months before I can have my XPERIA 1 II in my hands. Well it is worth the wait. In return I will only be spending around 700-800USD(INR50,000) on it. Which is extremely good as if it were to officially launch in India it would have been priced INR1,00,000 at minimum.

[deleted post]Dont buy iPhones. You cannot send photos via BT, no NFC support, problem with parring with professional cameras, problem with comunication and pairing with hi-end headphones other manufactuers. Poor battery fot 6 hours...
Dont buy Samsung. Android have blootware, xperia Android 700MB (package), samsung android 1,8GB. Laggy UI, poor calibrated screens, problem with AF at night.

After watching your video, I tested mine with hand. For me both on and off works nearly around 5 cm. Having said that, I never had problems during call. Tbh it is nice it deactivates after 4-5cm (it is safe distance unlike 1-2cm). It would have been problem (My Z5 had this during old days), if it doesn't deactivate even after completely taking off from your ear. I used to manually press power button multiple times on my Z5 to get the screen back on. Thankfully I don't have this issue with my X1 II.
May be try resetting and check if problem still exists.

Hi everyone, I've a problem with my proximity sensor. Can you guys please watch the video I uploaded and confirm if all the Xperia 1 ii phones have the same problem or no.
The problem is that the sensor activates fast enough when an object is getting close but deactivates very soon even when the object is few cm away. As a result when you are on a phone call if your hand holding the phone moves a little then the screen turns on and for sure will be touched by your ear. Also when listening to whatsapp voice msgs again the screen goes on and off resulting the msg to stop playing which is really annoying. Please share your experiences to find out if it is software or hardware problem.
Maybe the numbers for you might be different based on the way you do the test. But the important part is for the sensor to deactivates at the same distance when it was activated.

Its real camera that you can play like child and make good photos.
Most reviews in internet about that camera setup are really really weird. Its unbelievable.

This being New Phone even for you it will only get better after you play around with it more and find the perfect possible setting for your individual liking. Hell no other phone can achieve that even if they come at price greater than this. And here people are questioning why is this phone priced that high. Simply put unlike other phones which hand us their cooked up images which is not liked by all as every other individual has different taste, SONY is giving us the option to select the options we like and they offer to provide us the best result which will definitely have us satisfied with the result. I hope people understand this simple point. This is not like other phones which have limitations of being good in low-light while being over-saturated in day light or being good in day light while compromising on low light environment.

i rather pay $1200 for sony and not to deal with those things in the first place but hey, if people don't mind having adware on their phones and don't mind to spend some time to disable those things, go ahead. free of choice, again nobody force you to buy sony phones
