Tann Hauser, 10 Jul 2020A very unique feature that I appreciate even more than the upgraded cameras.
I find myself ... moreThat's a really nice joke, but DSEE does not really improve sound quality in any meaningful (or TBH at all) way.
Decent output without upscaling sound much better than average output with PR magic.
Audio upscaling good ... oh goodie!
Smithravi, 09 Jul 2020It is clearly mentioned "24-bit/192kHz audio" in the specs.

I find myself too often listening to yt music streams and yt music downloads than uploading music files to my phone, as it is the most conveniant option to listen to music.
And with Ultimate, I ll have no need to search for hi res music files around the net, and burden my phone memory with large files.
Rocket147, 09 Jul 2020The specs are awesome but it's over priced almost 2x based on specs.Oh Okay. If you have another option with similar feature for half the price, no one is stopping you from buying it.

Where in the *beep* people finding 24Khz???? Also Sony uses DSEE Ultimate to upscale even poor quality mp3 type audios to greater than CD levels.

I'm owning the phone for about 2 weeks now and have no regrets. The Camera is amazing, coming from a huawai p20 pro. No AI that is messing with the pictures. No oversaturated colors. The Dynamic range is sometimes struggling to not blow out bright spots. But with the photo pro app and some editing, the pictures are the best I have seen from a smartphone. If I want Samsung style pictures, I can edit them to look like it.
Yes, the 4k Screen is overkill...but HDR 4k content still looks amazing. I didn't even know how much I missed stereo front speaker! It's an amazing phone and I'm excited for future updates... Raw picture mode is still missing :(
Me, 08 Jul 2020Does anyone know if it has infrared? There ain't infrared (blaster) in 1 II. The last Sony devices to have IR are Xperia ZL and Xperia Z2 Tablet. After that, Sony never implemented that feature again.

:D that's just comedy gold.
bbl, 08 Jul 2020Can someone tell me who had or has xz premium is it worth to upgrade from xz to xperia 1 mark ... moreI had an XZ Premium, great phone that I still love today (probably one of the best of its generation), and just got the 1 II this week.
The 1 Mk II is better in every way in my opinion. Audio is great, design is superb and the camera quality from the XZP is not even close to the 1 II.
Not to mention the screen with its motion blur reduction that doesn't look bad at all.
This is definitely a step up from the XZP.
bbl, 08 Jul 2020Can someone tell me who had or has xz premium is it worth to upgrade from xz to xperia 1 mark ... moreDepends. Don't get this phone if:
- The selfie cam is important
- You want the "best" camera for 1000€+ (or if zoom is important; this camera is still good)
- You search for high battery life + fast charging (the battery life of this phone is okay, but "okay" for a flagship...?)
- You need high refresh rates (imo overrated though)
- You want the best performance (for games etc.)
- You need 6.7"+ screens
Pro's: - For a classic allrounder with good stereo speakers, 24kHz audio quality (there's phones with 32kHz though, however the difference is not extreme imo; if you get it activate Dolby Atmos), SD 865. 8GB RAM, good colours, acceptable battery life, microSD slot etc.
Many phones miss many features of this phone. But you should think about if you ACTUALLY need them...
- Thin design, less weight than other phones (ONLY WORTH IT IF YOU PLAN ON NOT USING A CASE)
- Allrounder camera, even if it isn't the best out there (will be solid though)
- Maybe you like bezels? Actually looks nice from the front
Alternatives are: - Oppo Find X2 Pro (better display, camera)
- Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro (better camera, stereo, battery and performance, but no IP68)
- Huawei P40 Pro (monster, but no Google apps (except if you want to take the risk...))
- S20 Ultra for selfie camera
- OnePlus 8 Pro for software and a nice allrounder, but also with some unoptimized areas...
- Wait for Note 20+ or Mate 40 Pro?
Sony is my longterm smartphone until now i'm still using Xperia Z ultra from 2013 just got replace the battery around 2018 apr i'm very satisfied using Sony. I'll buy this phone next year hopefully the price will drop. Only peoples not using Sony are badmouth Sony Phones.
Anonymous, 02 Jul 2020Totally wrong!!! 1. It is the tallness of display, not width, that hinder one handed usage. ... moreOne handed mode on smartphones reduces width as well as tallness of the usable screen.
Can someone tell me who had or has xz premium is it worth to upgrade from xz to xperia 1 mark 2?? thanks :)
Anonymous, 07 Jul 2020cool.please keep us updated of how much uncomfortable the phone is and how useless 21:9 aspect... moreI think for this size the 21:9 is actually quite comfortable. It is thin enough for one-handed typing but yet has extra space. I don't think 21:9 works well with the smaller phones though.
Guys the battery endurance rate is out, a new subject to flood the comment thread with YAY, but please don't, btw the result is pretty impressive.
