Specially when we talk in terms of video recording.
For good quality maximum pixel count @ size 1/1.7 is 15mpx. Everything above will be poor quality. I know that becuase I have tested many, many Sony APSC and Fullframe cameras (from 6300 to 7RM4 and alfa 9) and 2.4 times less size sensor (apsc vs ff) is big dfferences above ISO3000.

Considering the resolution of the phone screen, of the Youtube video, considering the compresion of the camera, compresion of the Youtube and many other aspects (the biggest one being you are watching 4K Youtube video of the 4K display ...) ... there is no way, you can tell one is sharper than the other ... well unless you are affected by placebo or simply want to add a bit of fuel to the flame.
I am all for constructive discussion with real data.

Dont get it why some revs bother with testing the obsolete computational portrait mode, those are leftovers form obsolete camera setups.

For colors, the Xperia is oversaturated; don't know why though.

>Puts 12MP sensor in there to mess w... moreSony alfa 7Sm2 have full frame sensor at 12mpx and its the best camera for night video I ever tested. No noise at ISO12800. Sony make very good choice, bring bigger sensor 1/1.7 @12mpx and F1.7. My XZ3 have smaller sensor, more pixels (so pixels are smaller - bigger noise at high ISO) and worse aperture 2.0 (less light).
Every smartphone have a little noise (on bokeh) even at sunny daylight. On Xperia 1 II didnt see that.

You cannot read 16/25/30MP as fast as 12MP.

I have tested 1mII yesterday and ooh weee.. camera (Pro) is outstanding (color, noise, AF and lens bokeh) and that OLED screen... dont know what to say.

If you can't find difference in sharpness in that video, nothing else would convince you mate. On that note, I will stop wasting my time arguing and explaining same-thing over and over again.

There is a one shot of macro, where you can barely see a difference, but if you are expecting to see the result in person ... let alone on a Youtube video - he is playing compresed video and he uploaded it on Youtube that features agressive compresion you really are just "selling snake oil".
You have no idea of what camera, what camera settings he used to take the video, you have no clue what colour mode was used ... but sure, go for it, make a comparison and say one is better than the other :D

Either way point of that video is sharpness and details. No where Oppo or other devices are near Xperia 1 II. If you read my comment I specifically mentioned FHD vs QHD vs 4K.
PS: Colours on other smartphones are mostly washed out. I'm surprised even Samsung has cold colours.

No notch display ... yeah, it's different, yet it's still a display so ... LG has one, Sony has one too - one with wacom support, the other one with much better screen.
BTW I know you mentioned more, but those were not really sensible examples I decided to ignore them and not make fun of them.
I myself am still not sure what phone to pick - LG is doing a bunch of things much better than Sony a lot of things that makes sense - way better audio capture, probably MUCH better battery, some camera features are better. Sony is ... more streamlined ... that's the word I was looking for.

Eye AF would be 5th difference. Also Xperia suppports Dual Shock 4 for gaming. No notch display and the differences goes on. LG is good as a budget phone but no where near as an all rounder smartphone. Forget about Sony, LG display is still not as good as some other chinese smartphones. Anyway, yes there are points where LG is dominant like in audio for example due to their DAC support. But obviously people who wants to buy Xperia wants the best display, unique camera and then decent audio as main preferences. Target audience is different. Forget about 1000$ price tag, If a guy wants a budget smartphone, one doesn't even need to spend over 400$.

How is the flashlight, is it bright like the old Xperia 10 and the loudspeaker is loud like the old Xperia 10?
Most of the Xperia flashlight are very dim, so is this one brighter
