Anonymous, 27 May 2020yes, i knew it, my lumia 1020 with 41mp, ois, xenon flash, and zeiss lens still able to compet... moreYour Lumia 1020 shall seemingly forever be the best-in-class - best for photography with its awesome cameras, best for productivity with its spectacular OS.
No phone in the last few years comes even close to matching the Lumia 1020, let alone surpass it.
Respect to you for mentioning the Lumia 1020.
I'm not totally disturb with Sony's naming scheme, but just a bit of common sense to understand it like...
Xperia "1"= Xperia "Alpha"
so let's expect more than eye eye in the next succeeding years.
and hopefully they won't suffer the same fate of HTC ONE branding...R.I.P.
hello, i was an xperia fan and i have 2 xperia phones, Z5 and XZ1, one is completely broken after 3 year use and thr other is broken only on 2 week use (i managed to repair it myself) but it stays crippled until now ... and both of them are deribelately crippled on their software side right after 3rd major os update... two things i like on those phones are their cameras and music player but beyond that they are complete dead, for example its phone app tone is freakingly loud when you press any numpad when you want to make a call, wifi that is turning on by itself, google maps doesn't work properly when navigating, some volume problems and so much more and looks like the phone is conditioned to spy on you the more you update your phone to recent version...if any of you try to deny my comment then you are either someone who is paid by sony to make only positive comment about their products, someone who likes to make chaos on this forum, or a sony xperia wannabe who knows nothing about sony phones...

So just watched a video comparing the temperatures between Xperia 1 vs Xperia 1 II.
With the HS power control ON Xperia 1 II is 10°C cooler than Xperia 1
With the HS power control OFF Xperia 1 II is 6°C cooler than Xperia 1
That's pretty damn cool I guess.

PS: HS - Heat Suppression is Xperia's gaming enhancer feature which cuts off the battery from charging while connected.

if you kept trashing sony when they only have 60hz, what's wrong with having 240hz? surely that's better than having 120hz
we get it, you don't like sony phones.that's fine.but also realize we that like sony phone, especially this xperia 1 II also don't like what others currently offers no matter how much you trashing on this, it won't change our mind. just because you think this sony phone is crap and yours is great doesn't mean its fact, it's only your opinion

RishiGuru, 27 May 2020From what I heard the name of this phone is to be prounced as: Sony Xperia One Eye Eye I... moreNo lol. It is pronounced as Xperia 1 Mark II. If you watch that video completetly. It was a streaming and they read the people's comment who donate them. He just repeated the phrase from one of the subscriber who said it is called "Xperia One Eye Eye", it was a joke lol.
RishiGuru, 27 May 2020https://youtu.be/ozkWS_YqwYM At 34 mins 10 sec IDK dude. It's unorthodox to hear Sony Xperia 1 Eye Eye despite Sony Xperia 1 Mark II naming certainty from the beginning. Because after Alpha's intervention on Xperia's since Xperia 1 in 2019 (with the development of Xperia 1 from 2018), I knew Alpha elements will be carried over to Xperia (from the naming scheme (Mark II and so on) to how the camera software works (like Photo Pro and RAW-based photo)). I mean, the naming scheme also affects Xperia 1 II successor for the upcoming years, 1 III, 1 IV, and so on... Even Japanese media were right to predict Xperia 1 Mark II naming. Tbh, the pronunciation of 1 II as 1 Eye Eye kind of ruins Alpha's collaboration in Xperia.

If pronounce like what you type and Joshua Vergara told, then their Alpha, RX Cyber-shot, and other Sony products that applied romanized numerical in their products should be the same. But in fact, it wasn't. It's pronounced "(product) Mark (iteration)" as the new Xperia naming scheme was taken from their Alpha and RX Cyber-shot series nomenclature. Even Sony Mobile President and Sony Xperia Engineers told about that.

If the p... moreyou are absolutely right... perhaps "pushy marketing" makes most people "choose" the same. or some of them thinks what they prefer is supoerior than others preferrence...
at my end, i usually choose what i want not what i see on others, on the contrary i like it better to be different... i even use a phone with a gigantic bezels... z5 premium...
people should accept diversity... at least there are manufacturers who are brave to cater people who prefers anything else than the usual... i see sony and lg doing these... people should realize that we have different "options" and should buy what they want... if they think it is too expensive then they can either buy other "cheap phones" or wait for a price cut... because who doesnt want a lower price? as long as there is no compromise...
Ali Bashir, 27 May 2020I am assuming the 20fps AF/AE doesn't work on under 1/20ss however it doesn't matter. Maybe not even 1/60 because of 60fps AE calculations
Practically, 60fps is the adequate shutter speed to match real life motion, so it would be the fastest speed that the burst would work in to prevent motion blurring
