If you weren't lying around here, no one gonna have a problem with it.
Dennis.K, 23 May 2020Believe it or not, your top PUBGM/CODM streamers actually use iPhones or iPads (more preferrab... moreTrust me all top of the list gamers are part of a team or group which are officially supported and sponsored by brands like ROG. And not only sponsored group almost all the top players who play competitively a single game or are into multiple games at same time and gaming being main focus do spend into these phones. The Streamers are not really that competitive at all, They never aim for top of the leader-board. Yes they are far better than mediocre players but they are no where near Pro-level. Besides few exceptions and you can check their setup for streaming. They are definitely not doing it on iPhone or SAMSUNG smartphone online without adding more latency. Whereas as phones like ASUS ROG Phone have external processing module specifically to extend it to HDMI output helping in no latency gaming experience and streaming at same time.

It is strange how a lot of people on here look for the weakest part of this phone and that is all they like to talk about.
The phone has a lot more strong points (in fact unbeatable in many aspects) than weak points. Yes it doesn't refresh as quickly or charge as quickly and the front facing camera is on the weak side compared to other flagships. But that is about it. The camera can do things no other flagship can do, the screen can show things no other flagship can show, and the audio can do things no other flagship can do. And I am probably forgetting something
Dennis.K, 23 May 2020Believe it or not, your top PUBGM/CODM streamers actually use iPhones or iPads (more preferrab... moreThat's because some games used to support 60fps only on ios, but know things are changing, developers are taking high refresh rates seriously. Also there's the camera quality that is usually sacrificed in these "gaming" phones, but still, many people want a good for gaming with reasonable price, not every one is crazy enough to pay 1000$ and more for a phone.

Dennis.K, 23 May 2020Nobody is gonna download 60-65% of these games just tonprove a point. The point here is. A person who really wants the smartphone for high refresh rate competitive gaming wouldn't even consider phones like 1 II, S20+, V60 or even 8 Pro in their list. They would have list with phones like ROG, Black Shark etc. which are designed for that specific purpose.

RishiGuru, 23 May 2020There is nothing wrong to be a Xperia loyalist or a Sony fan. You tried many brands and Sony s... moreYou are not completely right. Even when SONY had INR50,000 or lower sticker price for Flag-ships which was completely worth the price for quality and smoothness and reliability it offered over other Android phones it was still not selling well. The reason was not because the price was high for what we were getting offered because at the same time SAMSUNG was selling while being priced even higher than SONY flagship. The reason is not the price, it is awareness. How many around India really knew about SONY XPERIA products when it was selling. Not a single Television or Paper ads or even ads on sites like Amazon or Flipkart. With no marketing at all do you really expect it to sell at all. Lets go back to time when SONY used to advertise. 2012-14 XPERIA Z series flagship was highest selling flagship device of all. Check back on NDTV and IndiaToday articles from 2014 Diwali time. XPERIA Z series models had highest sales with Z1 being most sold smartphone even selling way above its MSRP and had to get units imported by many suppliers across India to restock the discontinued model by then and guess even the imported units got sold out with above MSRP pricing. The reason is those Models were greatly advertised in TV and Print media on regular basis. Now you tell me when there was SAMSUNG offering of 2014 Flagship GALAXY S5 at little extra(INR39,000) than over priced Z1(34,000) why were Indian Public buying Z1 like crazy while SAMSUNG had comparatively lesser sales in that Festive month or two.
Certainly the best smartphone of 2020. Sony is a High quality brand and reliability, they dont do misleading marketing to its consumers. They always had excellent performances and take very realistic photos.
It is not a brand for everyone, it's only for special people!
pan, 22 May 2020nice points... i am not sure if i am an xperia loyalists, then... :-D
i tried nokia, lg, alc... moreThere is nothing wrong to be a Xperia loyalist or a Sony fan. You tried many brands and Sony suits you the best, so you stick with it. I hope the Xperia 1 II serves you even better.
Here in India, even if we want to buy Sony smartphone we cannot. As far as I can remember their mobile portfolio continued to incur huge losses in 2018, and they defocued smartphone operations in India. Back In 2018, Sony's share in the Indian smartphone market was almost negligible at 0.01%. No smartphone brand wants to leave India as it is the second biggest mobile phone market after China. This is where money is if you can play in volumes. But Sony failed and it was only logical they left our country as their phones remained in seller shelves only and never got sold.
In a cut-throat smartphone market like India where Chinese smartphone brands rule the roost with over 60 percent market share due to pure value for money proposition, it's tough for other brands to garner a meaningful revenue share. Sony always had a very minuscule market share in India due to very high prices of their handsets. But Samsung, LG & Huawei are very strong here and they somehow sustained.
I believe the main problem with Sony was the nature of the Indian market, the consumers here are spoiled of choices, so if you are asking $1200 for a phone you have to justify the price. Sony just could not do that, so naturally they were decimated by Chinese onslaught of smartphones. The same story in 2020 is now repeating for Nokia. Huawei, Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo, Realme, IQOO, OnePlus are pulverizing Nokia. And believe me they may very well succeed. I just pray Nokia does not arrive the same fate of Sony smartphones in India. Only time will tell.
Apple is also trying like crazy for the last few years to have a good share of our market. Their phones garner very high prices so they are not able to succeed. So now they are in localized manufacturing route, making units much cheaper. OnePlus had already shown this is the only way to remain competitive in Indian market, locally manufacture OnePlus devices in India, sell them much cheap in India due to fierce competition and then export the same units to Europe & US and sell at higher prices due to import duties & taxes.
Metta, 23 May 2020Sony has not learned a thing from the world of mobile phones. Why they still keeps the design ... moreI think you are drinking a lot of marketing kool aid
