Because 0.0005% of people care for having it.
Most of us, if needed, use wifi/bt TV controller apps in 2020.

If you care about mobile cam sensors, you should know that main 12 mpx/dualpixel PDAF 1/1.7, 20 AF/AE and 70% focus point coverage capable one in Xperia 5 II, is their most advanced yet.

And also Mi Note 10 Lite is missing some essential sensors, like an SD card reader sensor, or a USB 3.0 read sensor.

Previously owned Xperia Acro S and Xperia Z2, but for number of reasons - everyting for the choice I made then was based on specs that were not basic. Today big phone manufacturer brands are missing one point - by taking away phone jack, radio, sdcard slot, wireless charging and not introducing new/old sensors along with inadequate pricing they will not succeed in future. Stagnation standards this is why i may never buy Sony or Samsung again in the future. Xiomi may be a crap brand for many, but they have introduced Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite, which is far more better phone than others have got. I choose phone for sensors and other capabilities not just RAM or processors. Xiomi phones can be used as remote controls for any TV sets. So tell me, why IR sensors were not present in every Xperia since the first was introduced. This phone is not worth its price.

Wh1000xm3 would have gone for 200 but not wf, but those two sound surprisingly similar. I have the wf.

Just preordered a Blue Xperia 5 II with free Sony WF-1000XM3/B worth over 200€.
Selling those for 200.

The actual phone will cost me 700€ in the end, which is excellent value for such a great phone.

But still we judge by the end result where Xperia flagships perform on par or even better compared to competition, including the ones with UFS 3.1
Most probably it was made to save costs. Or perhaps hardware and processes were not optimized enough by Sony standarts to provide substantial efficiency increase.

Hsmps1, 05 Oct 2020How was your experience with 10 II ?? Is it a good phone?Only the camera isn't good, and is slow sometimes, you can see a litle lag.
Battery performance is good, display is good.
For this 10-15 day where i use it is good, at all. I didn't see any type of lag or something.

It would be biased to compare well optimized ufs 3.0 compared with poorly optimized ufs 3.1

Definitely my next phone!
Before 10 days, i get 10 ii for just 150euro brand new, but i get it only for temporarily.
This phone is trully beast!
8GB Ram, SD865, Oled Display, 120hz, 3.5mm jack, led notification, expendable slot memory, good camera, and is expected to reach android 13!
And this 4000mAh battery in this compact size .. Haha, believe me Sony with 4000mAh battery is way, way better than some other "big" brands with 5000mAh.
I have 21: 9 ratio for first time with 10ii, and is just great!
Yes, this phone is expensive, but for a reason!

Excalibur, 03 Oct 2020Maybe, but we're not comparing phones, we're comparing ufs, sony can easily use ufs ... moreIn my opinion it is not very correct to compare specific components. It's rather better to compare package as a whole and see the results.
Many people don't even bother to check any specs and just use the phone. They judge it's capabilities on practice.
Indeed it would have been better to have UFS 3.1, but still overall end result is more important.

harsh, 03 Oct 2020any phone with 4000 mah battery is a farts worthAny phone with 4000mah battery and terrible optimization is. But Sony is known for its great battery optimization. So this phone will give battery life of a not so great optimized 4500-5000mah chinese phone.
