Only thi... moreMediatek doesn't quite have the rep Qualcomm has, but the chipset used on the C4 benchmarks quicker than the snapdragon 615 phones in the same range. So unless you get the 801 or above in and around the same price, its performance is not that bad.
The C4 was extremely overpriced at launch. Personally it still slightly is.
As for rooting and modding the phone. I am still struggling to do so.

Only thing you can do now is root your device and flash with Cyanogen mod OS 12 for xperia C4. Cyanogen OS is much faster and better than sony UI.
But it will void warranty. For now you can just disable the apps that you don't use via app settings

Guys. Please don't buy this phone. Really disappointing Specs. 1.7ghz Mediatek processor for 27k. Seriously? It's the same processor that is present in crapy Lenovo K3 note for just 10, 000. Camera is also not as good as they claim. MI4 has the best selfie cam I've ever used. If you want to buy only Sony better go with Xperia Z2 or Nexus 6 cause it's much better than this sh..ty phone which is nothing but a K3 note from Sony for 27k while K3 note gives same specs for 10k. Both are crap anyways.

Been using the Xperia C4 dual for a little over a day.
People who claim the C4 to have the Best camera have seriously used some mediocre camera phones in the past. A pathetic front camera when used without the front flash. Washed out images with No detail whatsoever. Rear camera good enough when used in Manual Mode. Battery seems decent so far (updated with the latest firmware). But Charging takes forever, atleast 3 hours. Assume its due to the low powered charger provided.
Good Speed, Display and Sound. No issues with network connectivity. Slight Heating (acceptable for modern phones) when gaming a few minutes.
a Decent Phone All In All but based on the hardware provided and its performance so far, I'd say the C4's over priced by a few 1000 INR. Sony should have made more efforts with the camera since the Camera is its USP.
