You've got a 4 GB phone. The Android operating system uses 2 GB which means you've got 2 GB for your own use.
If you need to install lots of apps, consider selling your phone and buying something with more space (like the Moto G). But, obviously, more space = more expensive.

jeez.. i'm reading some of the questions posted and some of the questions i find it stupid. the phone has 4gb internal memory and i read a lot of whining that it's not so now i got a question.. where do you think the jealy bean os file is stored? hmm? any ideas? it rakes upto 2gb for that os file alone so do the math. and about the phone heating up, it's pretty natural, most probably some of you guys are using it for games and some of you are installing high end games w/c needs high end specs and this phone is just at middle class lvl, ram won't even suffice that's why phone crashes and restarts. think about what your phone has before you start blurting out nonesense. read the manual and proper way of using your phone. for gamers out there, might as well buy a console or a high end phone coz this phone is not suited for you user types
