Anonymous, 27 Mar 2012Out on April 8th!how do you know if it's releasing on april 8? I looked everywhere when the ion would be released. thanks.
I'm at the point where I look at this phone everyday, thats how much I want it. Hopefully Sony will do the same thing & release it next month or in May.
i think that sony will not release this phone since many phones were created after ion and its already been released
what sony waiting for? they should release this model long time ago. haizt!
I guess sony is waiting to see the response for quadcore phones in Europe. If the response is great then it will release the Xperia Ion in Europe as Xperia I(?) with a quad core processor, LTE and memory slot.
The Sony Xperia Ion will be coming to AT&T United States Only. They might probably release a global version later this year....who knows?
AT&T will release this phone, Nokia 900 and HTC one X at the same time and more choice for customers. HTC one X running ICS so Sony will release this one with ICS to compete with HTC.
when will this be available here in philippines or even in taiwan???i want to have this!!!!HD camera in front and back 12MP!!!i really want this to be available here in ASIA
The closest thing that the international customers will be able to purchase is the Xperia S.
Xperia S is NOT the same as the Xperia ION but it will be the closest thing possible without spending the $600 that i mentioned earlier. Its either the Xperia S or the $600 unlocked ION for the international customers. The ION will come from AT&T for a US only release.
RedChicken, 20 Mar 2012I've been checking this phone's specs for about a month and a half. Then i found out that it o... moreyeah. The xperia ion will be a US only release. The phone will not be release internationally but there is an unlocked version of the phone for about $600.00 USD.
The unlocked version is supposedly able to work with most of the European networks and some of the Asian networks though which ones haven't been annouced.
Furthermore, the unlock will work on T-mobile in the US but it will NOT support T-mobile 3G. So in other words if you use it for T-mobile and dont have 4G coverage (LTE or H+), 3G will not work by default and you will be stuck with the amazing speed of the EDGE network...............
Just a note so be careful peoples....
